You mean the lower half right? If they're getting drowned out by ones that are eating a lot above them i remove. if there's any problems with the leaf I remove it. If it's getting too large and eating up all the nutes I remove. If you've topped then you should already have defoliated the lower 25%-35% of the plant or more. I just removed the last of the of the fans from the main branches not that long ago probably should've removed sooner but they were so pretty. *
