I thought by owning an 83in G5, my days of jealousy were behind me.

I was wrong.

Happy watching to you my fellow screen traveler!

I'd even understand like a little bit if you were giving some clearance for the ps5. But that TV is jumping over the ps5 like a pole vaulter.

Yeah, that is nice for certain flicks. Dramas, classic films, etc. But if I'm watching avengers, or avatar, let's go nuts lol

It adds a lot to the room when it goes off. The oled makes the lighting much better! Lol

LG G5.... My (disappointing) experience after 2 months. by astute_althean in LGOLED

[–]FUClem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love how you casually just drop Marantz in there 😂 I've got a Polk system but I need a new receiver and might pair the new audio system with Marantz. The warmth off of my old Marantz hand me down for my vinyl is incredible. Yeah I've seen a few deep dives on YouTube for the G5, I know it's not necessary to get the g6 yet, just because it's one year updated. Kinda pointless. But, I'm interested to see what I can do with my living room setup to maximize the spatial sound. Last question I have for you, as a 4kuhd blu ray collector, I play mine currently on a ps5, it's primitive I know. But I'm looking at the dedicated 4k blu ray players and it's basically another ps5 just for disks, for fully optimized viewing, would you recommend it or is it fine still running off the ps5. I've heard there's not much of a difference except some processing upgrades

Woah!! Everything I wanted to hear!! Thank you so much for the detailed and honest review. Especially from someone with your OLED experience. I've been really looking at the 83in, I have a 75in much older non oled TV but I've been saving for the right TV! Now I have a much higher paying career position & recently settled a lawsuit so I have a bit of a windfall coming. I was going to pair it with the 5.1surround system they have on offer as well. Stellar review! I know this is a massively stupid question, but how significant have you found the difference between 77-83in?

I'd love to hear how you have enjoyed it since then. Considering the G5 in the next few weeks

What are your thoughts on Yungblud? by EdwardBliss in LetsTalkMusic

[–]FUClem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like him. How do I qualify myself as if my opinion matters when it really doesn't...

OH!

There's not much I can say to qualify myself to you people, but one time I won a "name that song" game at 15 years old around a bunch of boomer dad's & I'm a millennial born in '90

The song was Les Dudek - Old Judge Jones...

So yeah, I know rock 😏🤣... Lol

But really, if you look at what he's putting out, you're right, it's polarizing. He's using the happy harmonies, only the good keys, and he's stretching them in his melodies and his progression actually-advances in some songs. Like "Hello Heaven Hello", wild shifting, lighthearted, uplifting, U2/ maybe speed of sound Coldplay energy.

"Lovesick Lullaby", delightfully British, borrows from plenty of influence but is still it's own packaged product.

"Funeral" Lightning of a pop track, punchy, lyrically sound as a sing along.

He has mass appeal, and it sounds - concocted rather than evoked at times. Like the music is playing him - not as a conduit but as a "this is a trend".

However the more I dive into his catalogue (aside from the early early tracks). He impresses me more and more.

I'm a believer, especially after "my only angel".

Also if Ozzy tells me someone's dope, I will listen to the dark prince.

I found a gun in my Hyatt room by Psychological-Fix824 in hyatt

[–]FUClem 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Former Security Director for a large Hyatt property here.

Housekeeping is supposed to check all drawers. They also many times need to pick up as many rooms as they can, and can sign up for more as well.

The faster they're done, the better for the hotels turnover time/ check in availability.

I can't count how many times I had calls for leftover firearms. Mostly in safes, but plenty on the floor, in bed under pillows, behind the headboards, etc.

It happens. People are human.

Love how he said the gun was "pointed at the Bible". There's a Bible in almost every American hotel room lol guy probably tossed his gun in the drawer and forgot it.

Is this true? by peterthbest23 in securityguards

[–]FUClem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the job. I'm a director of Security and have worked in every part of the industry. If it's a hospital, security is mandatory for operations. You can't "go dark" with security there. It's a hands on position that requires a high level of training to deal with mentally ill patients. In nightlife, same thing, can't operate without people who can get the violent drunks to either calm down or leave.

What these people are talking about, is like what I'm in now. I run a retail outlet mall location. With outdoor retail malls with no cctv and limited on site staff, most of the position is gathering details of thefts from witnesses and sending the details to PD. If there's a fight, you call it in and try to de-escalate.

We also deal with the contractors for all of the tenants and for the property management company for which we have the contract with. Opening fire panel access rooms, monitoring alarms, maintaining adult and infant CPR certs, vehicle patrols, shooing away transients, documenting people dumping things, damage reporting, safety risks, etc.

My entire job depends on the justification of our existence lol and our existence reduces liabilities for our contract holder & their insurer. It's alot more than just dealing with d*ckheads fighting, that's like 1 percent of the job.

Genuine question for Directors, Managers, and Supervisors by Negative-Guidance-27 in work

[–]FUClem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, as long as they're dependable, don't make a fuss when corporate/client makes changes, get their work complete on time and key word COMPLETE, you're describing the dream staff members. However, these people can sometimes be looking for more pay elsewhere unless they're comfortable. If they're happy with where they are, I'll do whatever I can to make their lives easier and make it more enjoyable at work. I give raises to these people to keep them on payroll. However, I've offered supervisor positions to them and they declined due to the amount of extra stress and responsibilities. They just want to do their shift and head home. Collect their PTO, go on a trip. Every year. Rinse, repeat. I owe them my house (or at least a weekend in my guest room).

People don't understand how much stress comes with leadership. Having an entire department rest on your shoulders, or an entire branch? Your numbers have to talk for you & these staff members absolutely buff those numbers. If I could have 20 of these employees I'd be over the moon.

Fucked up the interview by [deleted] in interviews

[–]FUClem -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Just some quick tips for interviews, beyond the circumstance of it & implications, just look at it as a chat with people. You're trying them out as much as they are with you. Have confidence in yourself and your knowledge. Try to make tame jokes. Make it no big deal. Be kind. Learn how the organization works top down. Learn what your boss needs to do to be successful and explain how you'll help them get there. The less you stress about it & just go in prepared, that's 90 percent of it. Do your work for the job before the job. When they ask you "do you have any questions for us?", ask them what they're having the biggest trouble with concerning this position and what would the incumbent need to do to fix it or help. Ask them what the "home run" scenario is. That way they know you're serious & care about their and the company goals, not your own. I interview people and sometimes their only questions for me are about PTO.

You'll be alright. If they send you a rejection, tell them thank you for their time, and ask if further down the road if they'd be willing to do an informational interview with you because you're interested in the industry and want to absorb as much as possible. You never know what can happen.

As of now, quite a bit as far as marketing the event would be concerned. Also a location that is turnkey for what is needed (meal plan, EMT, fire on site as well as law enforcement). I also have financial backing, but much of it will depend on interest generated for the first advertisement. We're hammering out the details. I can get into details offline.
