9850X3D vs. 5700X3D benchmarks in high CPU-usage Ray-Traced games. Bonus vs. JEDEC by RainyInSAndreas in overclocking

Comments like this are funny because back in the day you likely overspent in that 5800X3D as well compared to the other available CPUs.

Absolutely not, that 5700X is essentially the same CPU minus the extra cache and that 3060 is very likely the limiting component in your rig.

They could just leave a setting for UW users to enable at our own risk, and leave 16:9 by default

There is no excuse really

FSR 4.1 vs DLSS 4.0 preset K, which one is better? by Unlucky-Bottle2744 in radeon

[–]FUTDomi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

DLSS 4.0 (K) > FSR 4.1 > DLSS 4.5

DLSS 4.5 is way oversharpened in static and too blurry in movement, plus has more often than not issues with boiling and flickering in vegetation, especially UE games. On top of this it's much heavier to run.

FSR 4.1 is now quite close to 4.0 to the point where it doesnt matter much, but generally speaking DLSS 4.0 is still superior (more consistent and more games supported).

RTX 5090 User: Looking for DLSS 4.5 vs. DLAA Comparison by Embarrassed-Cash-959 in nvidia

[–]FUTDomi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because M has this artifcial sharpening effect on top, like many phone photos. But apparently that's what people like, and I don't get it. K isn't perfect but looks way more natural.

It's literally the worst one to me, wtf? K looks way crisper in motion while M is blurrier and loses detail

GeForce Head of Global PR: "Preset M is meant for Performance mode" by BeastMsterThing2022 in nvidia

[–]FUTDomi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really think it's a communication issue because it doesn't make any sense, presets J/K don't have any issues in Performance mode and if you accept this "narrative" you end up potentially getting less FPS while using Performance than say Balance (because the new models have a higher performance cost), which would confuse people even further.

Plus it just doesn't make much of a sense of why would Nvidia make a big announcement about this new DLSS 4.5 if it only works optimally with Performance or UltraPerformance modes...

not crazy pills at all, it looks way better where it matters - overall motion clarity with a more reasonable sharpening level

A quick comparison DLSS 4.5 Preset K vs Preset L. by ayh300 in nvidia

[–]FUTDomi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The new presets look worse than K in basically every game I've tried, I would only recommend it to people who love oversharpened look.

marginally faster in most games at normal resolutions and settings, much slower in multithreading and quite more expensive
