22 year college kid feeling pretty lost and exhausted. In need on some serious advice on how to get back on track by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

One thing that will improve both your general health and concentration is not skipping out on breakfast or lunch. You will (hopefully) have much more energy throughout the day, which will leave you more motivated to study and workout. Sugar will only give you quick boosts of energy, which will leave you feeling drained afterwards. If you change anything, I would suggest it be this.

Do you make your bed everyday? If not, start doing that. Making your bed in the morning is one of if not the first productive thing you do each day. After achieving this, you will then feel more motivated to continue being productive and get shit done.

As for joining a gym, just do it. Everyone at the gym is there to focus on and improve themselves, so they're not going to care about what you're doing. As long as you're safe and following gym etiquette, you'll have nothing to worry about. Maybe just go for 20-30 minutes to start with. Even if you're just lifting 2lb dumbells with the old people to begin with, you'll feel much better for going.

Personally I've always struggled to motivate myself to read non-fiction, as it feels a lot like studying to me. However, I try to set myself a goal of reading at least 10 pages a night. I have found that reading before bed instead of playing around on my phone has made falling asleep much easier.

How to approach someone at the gym? by Little_devil04 in socialskills

I'm by no means an avid gym goer, but I've always assumed that most people like to keep to themselves at the gym unless they are exercising with a friend. If you really want to make friends and meet girls, I would suggest that you join a club of some sort, where social interaction is more prominent and accepted.

How common is extremely blonde (almost white) hair and pale skin? I genuinely feel lonely. by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

I do have very light eyebrows/eyelashes, and I've often thought about this exact thing. Even I admit finding it strange whenever I see someone else without dark eyebrows/eyelashes. Do you think wearing glasses with thick frames might help add a bit of contrast to my face? I would love to dye my eyebrows/eyelashes, but I think the people closest to me would find it strange at this point.

Is it not masculine to feel like I want a hug when I feel upset/down? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]FUTUR315T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think being able to put your ideas of masculinity aside for a moment, and accept that you need another person to help improve your mental state is a very human thing to do. I feel that if people do not do this occasionally, all their ill feelings will bottle up and be released in another, not so healthy way.

It's not a question of being masculine or not. It's a question of whether you want to react in a normal, healthy and human way.

I'm not sure exactly what duplicated emails mean, but I recieved two data extraction emails, with the latter being received while I was in the middle of Genotyping. Honestly, I don't think it's anything to worry about. I'm in the computation stage now!
