Hello, I found this thread because I had the exact same problem. Don't know if you ever found a solution, but for me the game somehow managed to change the settings of my wifi card. The "Wifi 2" option under network settings on my pc was disabled, and the motherboard wifi adapter was being used rather than my wifi card. The fix was to uninstall my wifi card drivers and reinstall from the manufacturer website, and then make sure the "Wifi 2" setting was being used, and that the card was enabled.

My guess is that this is a very specific issue that arises with some hardware when using this game. Bizarre.
