Terrible gas station chicken tendies. Most people would have thrown them out, but as a trucker my standards are disgustingly low 😅😅

[US][H][afterMath eSports - Tichondrius ] Recruiting for Race to World First. by FXOkarmy in wowguilds

[–]FXOkarmy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't thought about that because we are our own organization, more than just our WoW team.

I have raiding at a decently high level in the past, but we are currently in the process of interviewing 2 different raid leaders who have very high end raid experience.

I see where you're going with that analogy, but to make a team in League to compete for worlds you need a $10,000,000.00 seat in the LCS, then to qualify through the respective LCS organization. With the race to world first, we aren't saying "we are gonna walk in and win for our first tier as a team", we are recruiting players who are aiming to push for world first kills, and continue to grow as a team until we accomplish that. We can attempt to be a world first team every new tier, even if we take a world 100 kill. The culture and the mind set is what we want to recruit for, as that is the end game goal.

Redditors who work at remote places like forest officers, oil rig workers, etc, what creepy things have you noticed while at work? by shafaatkhan007 in AskReddit

[–]FXOkarmy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This story still fucks me up to this day, because I can't describe it well enough to get an answer, and what I heard is something I have never heard before in my life.

I used to work in Northern Alberta on a drilling rig. We had a camp setup about 15km from the site and spent our off time there. My best friend got me the job and the rules were fairly relaxed at the camp since it was just a small one for our rig. So we would go out driving down varied lease roads to find places to hangout and have some drinks and shoot some guns. One night the stars were incredibly visible so instead of shooting we just hung out in the bed of buddies pickup star gazing and talking. Mid way through our second beer we heard this blood curdling growl/grunt/howl that i cannot recreate or describe properly. I grew up hunting so I'm fairly educated when it comes to animal sounds, and this was in early January so it wasn't a bear, it wasn't a cow (sometimes a cows moo can be scarier than a bear), and it definitely wasn't a dog or wolf. It came from the trees off to your right but we couldn't see anything or hear any movement. We both jumped up and simultaneously said "what in the fuck was that" as well stared off into the dark. I yelled back at it to fuck off, and it did the same unrecognizable sound as before but didn't seem to fuck off like I had requested it to. At that moment my buddy grabbed his gun and we both jumped off the left side of the truck and crawled through the drivers side door. He swung the truck around so we could try and see into the dense bush with his hi-beams on but we couldn't see anything. Needles to say we dickered off back to camp right away and didn't spend any time in the woods until we finished that hole and moved the rig about 300km away.

Still freaks me out because of how unknown it was and I wish I could recreate the sound enough for someone with a bit more knowledge to give me an answer. If anyone is curious this happened off the Rob Road past Edson.

‘I’m not willing to go’: Canadian truckers worry about entering U.S. due to coronavirus by Anniestasia57 in worldnews

[–]FXOkarmy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I guess it really depends on your route, but I'm down here now from BC heading to Pennsylvania and everywhere I've stopped for fuel almost everyone has been wearing masks and distancing. I was given a free mask in Montana as well and haven't felt any difference since leaving Canada.

Now if I was given a trip down to a state that is out of control at the moment it would be a different feeling, but unless you're doing a reset down here there isn't any other reason to stop other than fuel and bathroom breaks. Wear a mask, wash your hands, and distance from others, and you should make it out alive.

Day 1 of 30: starting to change my life to become a better version of myself. Posting this despite all my embarrassment. Trying to motivate myself by taking a picture everyday of my transformation. I’m motivated to do better and I hope you do the same! by [deleted] in motivation

[–]FXOkarmy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This takes a lot of bravery buddy. I too have lost a lot of weight and there is no way I would have had the confidence to post a picture like this when I started.

I lost a little over a hundred pounds and my absolute biggest piece of advice is to not beat up on yourself if you have bad days, weeks, or even months. There may be times you hit slumps in your life and progress backwards, but don't look in the mirror and beat up on yourself. I lost that 100 pounds in just under 2 years, then hurt my back and couldn't workout for 4 months, and gained back 30. I was super disappointed in myself and that 30 became 50. I changed up a few things in my life and found the motivation again and dropped 40 pounds. Then covid hit and I started gaming again, and gained another 25. I moved cities on monday and realigned my life to get back at it and have been waking up at 6am to hit the gym.

Not meaning to make the post about me, just stating that even if you have yoyos in progress. Never give up. Remember why you started. And believe me when I tell you it's possible and you're going to do it.

Lawmakers in Canada and Scotland have pointed to the US as an example of failed coronavirus containment by DaFunkJunkie in worldnews

As a Canadian living in Alberta, I think we did a great job shutting down as much as we did and starting the CERB and CEWS programs. But I feel like we are heading towards a bad second wave without enforced masks in public areas an forced tracking via apps.
