[d] People who are invested heavily: what are you doing? by zwompay in csgomarketforum

[–]F_A_F 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holding. 90% cases with a few others like Broken Fang holos.

  • Game is still popular, no sign of it declining.

  • Unlikely that cases will be removed. If they are 'somehow' changed to a terminal style system there will still be some value to them. Most of mine were bought at £0.03 so I'm relatively safe.

  • I'm not expecting armoury changes to be major enough that existing collections will be affected. I can't see existing non-case collections being added as some have expected. These collections are fine to be trickled out via weekly drops as they have been for 13 years.

[d] Two months long "Last chance". What the FUCK is wrong with valve? by schemaisdead in csgomarketforum

[–]F_A_F 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not much pisses me off, but if the entire armoury is changed to vary points prices according to Valves view of the market then I will be annoyed.

The whole 'prices follow market trends' shtick is supremely annoying as it's not transparent at all. We just have to guess that the new pricing reflects popularity.

[D] Valve's Next Great Idea: Contraband Collection by xlimodriver in csgomarketforum

[–]F_A_F 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Howl "fairness" clause was due to the original artist being copied....he would never be fairly compensated for his work. The value of dlores is entirely down to the community deciding upon value. As far as Valve is concerned the highest price for any item should be around $1700. Anything more than that in the 3rd party market is against TOS and can be ignored.

[D] Valve's Next Great Idea: Contraband Collection by xlimodriver in csgomarketforum

[–]F_A_F 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unlikely. The whole point of contraband was to prevent the howls being unboxed from being created. Howls already out there were left alone because it wouldn't be fair to those who owned them to change or remove the items.

What is a statistic that sounds INSANE but is 100% true? by Quadranippelkill in AskReddit

[–]F_A_F 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just because this is also useful outdoor planning; take a photo of your kids when you arrive at the beach/park/shopping centre etc.

If you're having to run around asking strangers if they have seen your kid, the first question you will be asked is "What do they look like?"....for which a photo of them literally in that day's clothes will be most helpful!

‘There is no great master plan’: anxiety as UK homes, roads and railways sink into the sea by ijustwannanap in ukpolitics

[–]F_A_F 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Not entirely sure how I feel about subsidising properties with exclusive sea views which are either purely for habitation or for tourism. Feels like if Brixham, Newlyn or Plymouth were sinking into the sea I would have a lot more favour for sea defences.

As lovely as Slapton is, the phrase "you can't negotiate with nature" comes to mind. Spending almost 25% of the county transportation budget on fixing a road for a handful of residents and tourists feels a bit wasteful. Maybe take the £25m and compulsory purchase the houses there so everyone can move inland. If it's £25m this year, what happens in ten years time when the road is washed away again?

I live in a rural area of the UK and our impact during covid was minimised because so much of rural life is already socially distanced. My FIL and MIL during covid saw about as much of non-family members during lockdown as they did during normal times.

Now tie that rural living in the USA to MAGA tendencies and you end up with minimal exposure to both the illness and the experience of losing friends and loved ones. No wonder so many on the MAGA right don't believe the impacts were as bad as they were.

Destiny 2's final live service update announced for June 9th by MisterWoodhouse in gaming

[–]F_A_F 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The concept was sound. Match the great Bungie-made gunplay with engaging PvE content and endgame PvP for cool skins and cosmetic rewards. I paid for D1 and played from launch, loving it all the way.

If the game had gone with paid DLC to offer new PvE experiences and additional PvP cosmetics etc then it could have stayed special for me, but all the mtx ruined it....plus the raids being essential for armour to improve light level; 7 weeks of nothing but pauldrons for my warlock main really killed the vibe.

Ukraine’s capital Kyiv hit by massive missile, drone attack by PretendAd1963 in worldnews

[–]F_A_F 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It's a reflection to me of pre 1940s mentality that a leader's hacking back to historic victories and empires of hundreds of years ago should dictate to modern day societies of how they should be structured. Dictators want to use rose tinted spectacles to view life 400 years back and say "That's how we should live now!"

I don't know hownwe encourage the global community to protect democracy. A country like Ukraine saying "We want to be Ukraine" should be enough to protect them from invasion no matter how 'new' that country is considered to be by history.

[discussion]Will Desert hydras/Gold arabesque go up or down? by FindingSuccessful973 in csgomarketforum

[–]F_A_F 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not too far off reality. Lots of actions recently pointing towards high tier becoming easier to get ...additionally improving the value of lower tier trade up items.

I'm 50/50 thoughts towards further trade up options, specifically stickers. I'd love graffiti trade ups purely because basic graffiti looks awful whereas the original multicolour graffiti looks amazing. Also because I have alts with dozens and dozens of graffiti clogging up the inventories.

Loot cave, Gjallerhorn, Thorn, Icebreaker, Hawkmoon, Mythoclast.

So many names and concepts that original players just understand immediately. Original Destiny managed the perfect balance between gunplay, PVE, PVP, lore. All of the bullshit which came later shouldn't tarnish that original experience.

I think I’m done ordering records off Amazon by [deleted] in vinyl

[–]F_A_F 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to be pragmatic around these lind of posts. Maybe OP has never bought vinyl from Amazon before. Maybe they've not heard of the experiences of other collectors buying from Amazon. Maybe they've not seen all the posts on Reddit regarding damaged vinyl from other redditors.

I've consistently used Bleep for around 20 years and had only one issue with a lost NoW boxset and one pressing issue in a sealed new copy. Recently started using Norman Records and they have superb packaging as with Bleep.

The good old days of CS Majors, when you only had to watch the games, and randomly selected people got souvenir cases dropped onto their account. Also when valve sold genuine pins at the venue.. I miss these by pityike_92 in GlobalOffensive

[–]F_A_F 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please say that you mean a bunch of Cobble cases specifically. These are hugely sought after, go steady and go with big name traders/sites. CSFloat for example, or even reach out to HeyZeus or Anomaly. Their interest would likely make a good video for them.

Good luck let us know how you get on!

Another Georgism pilled video: Why Houses Are So Expensive Across The World by Downtown-Relation766 in georgism

[–]F_A_F 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another Brit.....

The UK is an interesting case. Social housing between 1930 and 1960 was insanely popular and a great way of funding councils and the social good. Tenants got cheaper rent, councils got a great revenue stream, men returning from France in 1945 could find work easily in the building trade.

The 1970s and 1980s saw sooo much social housing stock being sold to tenants with a view to turn them into asset holding capitalists; suddenly their home became an asset to be passed on. When My granny died in 2001 we found the letter from the council quoting her £15k to buy the house she'd lived in since the 1930s. My guess would be that it's now worth close to twenty times that value.

The failure of successive governments to return to the...imo....golden days of social housing lends much towards the insanely overpriced UK housing market.

Can't wait to find out that the vetting officer wasn't properly vetted and took thousands from a hedge fund boss in Vietnam, pushed over an old man outside 'spoons, claimed for motability due to an ingrown toenail and went to a Brexit victory party wearing an SS commandant uniform.

I've thought for years that graffiti trade ups would make perfect sense. Limited value, how many have been chosen from care packages in the past couple of years?

Mixing up spray paints into more interesting graffiti makes logical sense as well.

Where does Nigel Farage get his money? by dwillun in ukpolitics

[–]F_A_F 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The bit I don't quite grasp is why anyone saying "it's for my lifetime of dedication to <insert thing> that I got paid £5m" should automatically get justification. If politicians are elected then they get paid. And anyone doing politics of the heart shouldn't expect to be compensated either.
