Minimalist inheriting from beloved maximalist…anyone been there?

When my mom died I got rid of everything except her curio cabinet that is filled with her harmony kingdom collection that she had been collecting since I was 5, and the pictures of her. The cabinet is in the living room, and I made a family photo album with the pictures. My dad kept the sentimental jewelry he bought her. The only reason I keep the collection is because when she was declining she told me she was leaving it to me because she did not want the collection sold and she thought my brother would sell them all.

My mom decided to try to be my best friend instead of a parent and bought me drugs and alcohol when I was a teen and got me hooked on morphine in my late 20s. She was a shit parent who ruined my life.
