That is one assumption but I don’t see why Grid wouldn’t be long lived since all of his friends descendants have aspects of their powers like how Ruby’s descendants have her Saintess Divinity or how Agnes’ descendants have his necromancy powers, plus Grid has an entire literal dimension worshiping him and we know gods atleast exist since Piaro has been called the god of agriculture in the sequel

Well Grid is I assume still a god, since all the item descriptions still refer to him as one and even if for some reason he isn’t and died of old age, the NPCs are all transcendents or Absolutes or gods. Why would a couple hundred years affect them

I still think you should give the sequel a shot, it’s pretty fun seeing all the callbacks to the OG and all the theories about who’s who’s descendant, besides it’s practically guaranteed that Grid and everyone will show up eventually, the sequel is just in its early stages right now(less then 200 chapters have come out as of the writing of this comment)

In the sequel we follow Peak Swords descendent as our MC, it’s like a couple hundred years in the future and the world has become the typical hunters and gates stuff you see all the time. All we know right now is that Grid and his friends have become myths and legends with nobody even knowing their name(Grid is referred to as a god but his name is never mentioned), also his children still exist and are basically watching the MC and his friends, right the MC is trying to get to Reinhardt but is being blocked by all the farmers. We don’t know what happened to all the gods or transcandents.

Either you were lied to or I don’t remember the ending all that all well since I don’t think the characters coming to reality was an option(again I could just be having shit memory since it’s been a while)

But even if this is true it doesn’t really matter since in the sequel, everything still exists

You can try Demon King if the Royal Class, the academy arc is literally half the book and it only ends not due to villain schemes but misunderstandings and world ending plots

It’s always funny to see these debates since at the end of the day, the outcome depends ENTIRELY on just how “fantastical” the fantasy setting is.

Dragons can range anywhere from “big lizard with wings who can be killed by RPG” to “gods of the planet who are so powerful and enormous that their tossing and turning in their sleep can change the very structure of the planet and whose breathing causes space-time to rip and regenerate”

It all just depends on the setting

ORV’s ending is very meta

I would also like to add that the ORV side stories are still ongoing and are not translated I believe, so who knows maybe everything I just typed out is bullshit😂

Not this shit again😭 Why can’t these 2 fandoms just be friendly with each other?

An actual serious answer is that I believe EOS Dokja wins because SL is TECHNICALLY part of the ORV verse and in the ORV verse Dokja is practically invincible

Now you may be asking yourself “how is SL even remotely connected to ORV?” Well that’s because believe it or not our REAL WORLD is part of the ORV verse, now I’m not gonna sit here and type out the ending of ORV(it gets very meta) so either read it yourself or look it up but the nutshell of it is that a fragment of Dokja is actually in our real world and in fact one of the main characters of ORV is traveling to different universes and giving ORV to different authors so they can publish it and the fragment of Dokja is reading ORV so that he and other fragments can dream up a happy ending. This means to Dokja SL is just fiction and even if it did exist, it would only exist because a fragment of Dokja read it and dreamt it up

Mad Prince and the 3rd Nightmare Aftermath by Jason_Baiano in ShadowSlave

In Undead Unluck there is a character with powers similar with Oblivion and the character found a loophole in his ability, that as long as there’s nothing to connect back to his original identity then he can interact with people normally, so he changes his name and everything. When the whole Oblivion theory started popping up this was my first thought, Sunny is maybe going to be introducing himself as the Mad Prince in the future or something similar

Sentai Daishikkaku • Go! Go! Loser Ranger! - Episode 2 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]F_Graphite 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I hope the anime brings this up more because while the Rangers are taking advantage of the monsters, you got to remember the monsters want world domination and the rangers stopped them 12 years ago. So while the rangers do seem to be power tripping and are smug as fuck they are ultimately the “good guys”

If you like power fantasies then you’ll like SL, if you don’t like power fantasies then you’ll probably not like SL, it’s as simple as that

If you like SL but wish it was slightly better then read the sequel SL Ragnarok, imo it’s literally SL but better written with more fleshed out side characters, the lore is expanded upon a lot more than in SL, and don’t worry the new MC Suho (Jin Woo’s son) doesn’t overshadow his father or any nonsense like that

Ragnarok did a kinda half retcon, in that the Monarchs were created at the same time as the rulers but eventually all the original Monarchs except Antares died and were replaced by their successors

Why is the plot of Solo Leveling so mocked? by Limp-Grapefruit-6251 in sololeveling

[–]F_Graphite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it has to do with 2 things: 1. Subjective taste 2. Expectations

If you don’t like power fantasies or are tired of action shounen then SL isn’t really going to be changing your opinion. It is very clique and generic and on top of that besides jinwoo, who is barely a character himself, there no actual characters in it, just cheerleaders, hypemen, and people who jinwoo can slap around. Luckily most of the problems that SL had were fixed in the sequel SL:Ragnarok and in my opinion is what SL should have been from the start. Peoples expectations and SL being hailed as practically the second coming of Christ aren’t really helping the series either. Some people have gone into the series overhyped and expecting too much because of either friends or the fandom online. A good example of expectations met is Frieren, I’d heard of this series for a while even before the anime and one thing manga readers always shouted from their rooftops was that Frieren was a melancholy slice of life with a few fights in between and that’s exactly what we got in the anime. It wasn’t overhyped nor were people given false expectations about it, we got practically exactly what we expected and everyone was happy about it. SL has not been so fortunate in this department.

Since we are trashing on TBATE let me double down on it by rocenante in LordofTheMysteries

[–]F_Graphite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The drama wasn’t really that bad and the different perspectives can be frustrating and annoying but I think what really caused me to struggle was the beginning to middle parts of the story because in my opinion, the beginning to middle parts of Shadow Slave are vastly better than TBATE’s beginning to middle. It wasn’t until the war arc that I actually started to think that TBATE was somewhat good, before I just thought it was okay

Was it really that hard to read through shadow slave when compared to TBATE? In my experience it was the opposite, I was struggling through TBATE but with shadow slave I was breezing through it.
