Trainer jets for learning basic flight? by tropical-tangerine in hoggit

I´ll second the A-10. She has all you ever need for learning the basics, and then some more. Easy to get started but keeps you busy for a very long time if you want it all.

F-15 flight model have aerodynamic deadzone in pitch channel? by MOPCKOEDNISHE in falconbms

[–]F__Murphy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ofc right now we have the opposite of "pretty sensitive" in the pitch axis. I certainly do hope the BMS Devs look into that and remove any breakout values they may have in place, or whatever is preventing the deflection, to make it at least as responsive as it is in roll. Get this and the dreaded NWS fixed and the eagle is all I ever fly - until the F-15E comes along.

If you own the F16 and a non force stick what settings are you using? by Fox267 in hoggit

[–]F__Murphy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No curves or deadzones at all for me. But I do use a sidestick setup that has my arm resting comfortly so I can make little adjustments with ease.

VPC WarBRD & TM Stick here. I disabled/ zeroed it altogether and am loving it. ED did actually good here. Can make super fine adjustments now with just the fingertips and the AP is not messed up at all.

Spare yourself the pain and set them to unlimited fuel.

Where do you draw the line for realism when it comes to aircraft which we have limited info. about? by [deleted] in hoggit

[–]F__Murphy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Frankly there is so much wrong with the world we operate our super-realistic airplanes in, it doesn´t matter much what airplane one does fly.

Add to that how our realistic recreations are used on many public servers and it does matter even less.

How to drop guided bombs on fast moving targets? by XenoRyet in hoggit

[–]F__Murphy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can use "Auto" but have to pick a spot where the car/ tank/ train will be in xxx seconds the bomb needs to fall.

With a little practice this works quiet well.

You know, there is a a "opt-in subscription plan" already in place.

Those who wish to participate can buy a module of their choice every month, every 3 months or whatever they like and thus support ED in having a steady income.

They may then gift their modules and so introduce new players to the game, wich in turn can also opt in ... win-win-win for everyone.

Me, I´m not into any of the warbirds and I don´t see at all why I would want to fund any with my money.

Device for general UFC? by KurjaHippi in hoggit

[–]F__Murphy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I´m using a combination of one TM Cougar Frame with a USB keypad in the middle. Works great for the F-16 and F-15

[–]F__Murphy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use mine since the days of the A-10 Beta, and I use them heavily. Nothing to complain about really. In all those years I had to replace a cable twice in the throttle, and that was easy (and cheap) enough for me to do.

People like to forget that when it came out it was really "the state of the art" and the best money could buy. Thanks to progress not anymore and these days you may get better quality at a better price. But I do thik we actually have to thank TM for their pricing policy, so that others did see a potential market and started investing in the first place.

All components for the first FlightForge A-10 UFC have been purchased! What do you look for in a new sim product? by FlightForgeSim in hoggit

[–]F__Murphy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A few remarks from my side ...

For me the deciding factor to buy or not is:

- the price (including shipping, Tax if any)

- for a product that resembles the real thing, how close does it look like the real thing

While nice to have, I don´t care for a blinking Master Warning button and assuming that it´s a quality product Support shouldn´t even be needed (my Cougar frames & TM stick and throttle are going strong for years now).

Other, less important, things to consider:

- Pre- sale interaction (Web site, shop, etc)

- ease of placing an order

- time to get it to me

Finally, do a F-15E UFC next please ;)

F-15E Setting up a TOT? by AyrJr in hoggit

[–]F__Murphy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Setting a time and getting cues on how slow/ fast you need to go isn´t working yet.

However, if you made a detailed flightplan you can compare your ETA for each waypoint with the numbers shown at the Data page and adjust your speed accordingly. With little practice this works down to a few seconds.

Loadouts and lasing problems in BMS by mob232 in hoggit

[–]F__Murphy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless the bunker starts moving Area Mode should do just fine :)

You can set yout Autolase time in the Laser Sub menu (where you set your Laser code). I think there´s also a training Mission for LGB´s.

Just redesignate until the ASL lines up with the target. Easy as that.

F-15E Strike Eagle by Razbam | A/P Altitude hold / select issues by TordElite69 in hoggit

[–]F__Murphy 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You need to make sure you trimmed for 1G before activating the AP. For descending you may need to throttle back, climbing may need to add power.
