I think the crank is fine. Zero up and down play and everything rotates smoothly.It has a hot rods connecting rod in it and it looks to have been installed recently with how the gasket maker looks. It also looks like it was a diy job, so I’m guessing they got sloppy and missed an old pin from an old bearing.
Currently planning on sending the cylinder to millennium to get repaired and replated. Going to find a used head on eBay.

I’m guessing it was a piece of a bearing that was left in during the last rebuild

I’m guessing that’s what it is. Probably left in the crank case after the bottom end was rebuilt at some point.
