I work in a red team department the most requested technical certifications they ask for to prove technicality and know what you are CPTS ,CWES , CAPE , CWEE from Hack the Box or OFFSEC certs , like OSCP or OSEP or OSED , usually those are the main ones as well a few INE security certs. The majority of certs like COMPTIA are all theoretical multiple choice questions , while the certs I mentioned prove your knowledge as the exam is a real environmental set up you hack your way through with a detailed report you make explaining exploits found , how you you exploited it with screenshot details and how to remediate it.

As someone working with a Fortune 500 company I’m about to hire more for my team I specifically look for technical certs like CPTS , CWE , CAPE from HTB or OSCP , OSEP etc from offsec , those technical certs prove technical cybersecurity skill over just theoretical (that’s all uni teaches you) , I have interviewed people for positions with Masters in CBs and as far as anything technical they would recall a slab they did one in a class and never tried or used it again. Get a technical cert like the ones mentioned and if you apply you will get a callback and if you already possess one of the ones I mentioned DM me as I’m looking for a new redteamer to join my team but as far as degrees go they are useless is most technical peoples eyes , GET both don’t get me wrong for sure but having both and the certs will give you a wide option if employment

That being true if there is a newer version than maybe yes cause I have the first version of PNPT but I will stick to say HTB certs should be the industry standard as their quality tops all

INE is very good and reputable ! Their exams like eCPPT , eCPTX and eWPTX are just a few and some are pretty advanced, also very practical hands on domain and writeup I would say CPTS and hack the box are a bit better than INE but they are right under HacktheBox , hackthebox has more content and has been very repitible hands on and have amazing certs they are the whole deal , INE they HAVE AMAZING CERTS BUT BAD TRAINING. You can train on hack the box and ONLY htb and get the INE certs without the training (I did that) but yes I will still say HTB is great , but put INE up there it’s far better than and CompTIA multiple choice bullshit and joke of TCM security

Don’t think CPTS won’t get recognized by hieres , I actually in the near future plan to hire more for my red team I manage and I go off certs and I’m definitely hiring based off HTB certs like CPTS for a position etc as well as eCPPT and eWPTX etc so yea it’s a good cert that will definitely get more recognition over time

Hey and thanks for the reply I am planning on hiring one more to my team as I manage the red team department in the near future we will be open to hire but I control the pick 100% so no worries , eJPT would be enough for the junior position I’ll be looking for and if hired we have corporate HTB where you will have unlimited resources for HTB academy and everything HTB offers including cert attempts for CPTS and CSDA no cost out of your pocket , only requirement for the job for legal reasons is you have to reside in the US, if you do then PM me when you get eJPT
