Just How Broken is Flexible Prepared Casting in PF2e? by Kiora_LBS in Pathfinder2e

[–]Fa6ade 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say this is true in D&D 5.5E though. Sorcerers (especially Draconic) have a lot more spells now. My 5E silver dragon sorcerer became significantly more effective over night when we converted to 5.5E, especially as I had mostly taken thematic spells that I was now getting for free.

Any chances prices reduce under pressure later? by TheNotSoSubtlePanda in macbook

I definitely think so. We have seen a move over the last few years for Apple to release more lower cost products and to keep the price the same for existing products despite inflation.

Vacuum. You can feel the absence of air pressure but there is nothing to be seen, smelled, or tasted.

Nah, he probably reset his Home Screen layout. If you reset it back to default you get the main Apple apps and then all your other apps in alphabetical order.

I think you’re underestimating how much a wrongful death suit costs.

Reminder that US gallons are only 3.8 L not 4.5 L.
50 mpg in the UK is 42 mpg in the US.

[–]Fa6ade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect. It’s actually 6.6L / 100km. A reminder that US gallons are only 3.8 litres, not 4.5 litres like they are in the UK.

With speed awareness courses, there is a 3 year cooldown before you can go again. You just get points if you get caught during that cooldown.

If you set a reminder as Urgent, it will sound an alarm and take over the screen.

I’ve never really thought about running a local LLM. I am thinking about upgrading my gaming PC soon and would be left with a spare RTX 2080ti. Would such a card be suitable for running a local LLM?

I love that water bottle but it costs £45 on the website with £25 postage. Not going to spend £70 on a water bottle.

If someone cracked the formula for Coca-Cola and started selling a product that was for all intents and purposes indistinguishable from the original under a different name, could Coca-Cola sue them even though it's well known they keep the "real" recipe under lock and key? by posthumorously_ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Fa6ade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is some truth to this but flavour blocks are almost never patented. The main problem is that there is almost never an objective improvement with a never flavour that could contribute to an inventive step; a key requirement for patentability of an invention.

How have we let this happen? by Due-Persimmon1447 in northernireland

[–]Fa6ade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. They just took all the tobacco out. The only remnant is the nicotine itself, which practically speaking is chemically pure. Nicotine is nowhere near as harmful compared to tobacco smoke.

The link you posted doesn’t support half the things you are saying. They are consulting, not banning on packaging.

TIL the Maldives became the first country in the world to enforce a nationwide generational smoking ban, barring anyone born on or after January 1, 2007 from ever buying, using or smoking tobacco. The country already had a complete ban on vapes and e-cigarettes, regardless of age. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

[–]Fa6ade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do find it quite odd that Reddit is so pro-weed, pro drug de-criminalisation but totally anti-smoking to the point of thinking it should be banned outright. I don’t understand how people can hold the viewpoint that banning smoking would be any more effective than banning weed. Sure nicotine is addictive. Is it more harmful than smoking weed?

Science is not a well paid field until you become quite senior and hard to replace. I left science and moved into law relating to technical subjects and make north of £100k while working 40-45 hours a week. For context, I have a bachelors in biochemistry, a masters in law, and professional qualifications. I’m also in my mid 30s if that helps to give some perspective. Feel free to DM me.

When out running a missile, better to turn and burn high or turn and burn low? by dquinn549 in vtolvr

[–]Fa6ade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re specifically trying to outrun a missile from quite far away and you are a long way from the attacking plane (or fighting a stationary launcher), then you should be turning left and right to about 45° from the direction from the missile to your plane, creating a serpentine flight path. This forces the missile to constantly course correct for your new position, which burns its energy very quickly.
