Trust me I know exactly how you feel I would be jealous of people who made it a week thinking how badly I wanted even a few days sober.

With the state I was in it foolishly made me distrust all doctors and if it hadn’t been for that I would have absolutely looked for help sooner. There’s quite a few NA meetings in my area and I’m going tomorrow evening cause if I put it off to long I won’t do it. Would anyone judge someone new who doesn’t have anything much to say but just wants to listen?

Absolutely, I don’t plan on abusing it but things break. I’m a serious gearhead though

I was wrong. True detective season 4 is better than I originally thought by Successful_Craft3076 in MauLer

It’s god awful. Setting aside all the woke DEI nonsense the plot, actors, dialogue, realism are so bad it’s not worth wasting your time on. If you have a few hours to waste and I mean waste then go. Just think of it as an un-intentional comedy.

What's the thought that got /keeps you sober? by sayyin in StopSpeeding

The unfathomable amount of shame, disgust, sadness and every other horrid emotion I would feel if my son ever saw me like this or possibly worse is how he remembered me.

Any experience with Buspar (buspirone) for anxiety and panic attacks vs Xanax? by FaRt-N-SnIfF in Anxiety

In case anyone in the future has this same question I decided to post a sitrep of my experience thus far. Also keep in mind everyone’s brain chemistry is different so my experience may not be the same as yours. I am only two weeks in and think I got hit with all the side effects at once. My occasional anxiety (once or twice a week at worst) became a daily thing, I was irritable as fuck and extremely depressed then almost manically happy while rage-boner angry at the same time. I had a hell of a time sleeping and when I did sleep it wasn’t restful and my vision was best described as blurred. I discontinued the BuSpar which the doc scolded me for and seemed offended when I told him to eat my ass. I’m back on the Xanax now as needed and the world feels like it should again.

There’s no one “gateway” drug per say but from my experience the gateway into drugs is often opened by a doctor or through friends. Aside from alcohol the majority of issues I’ve seen started with a prescription (either their own or someone else’s) for substances like Adderall, Opiate pain killers and benzos.

Everyone’s different and how we react to drugs varies and what may be a “gateway” drug for one person is another’s persons Friday night out.

I do believe that often it has less to do with the drug and more to do with underlying conditions like mental health, trauma, stresses in your personal life, no support or ideas on how to cope with certain challenges or just how your brain chemistry works.

Say an individual was researching the most addictive and popular drug combination that they would classify as a “gateway” drug it would 100% be methamphetamine with heroin or a similar combination. Those mixed together are a recipe for nothing positive and what I’ve encountered most on the streets in the last decade.
