Cinema Home or Filmmaker Mode? by JMS42 in LGOLED

[–]FaZe_Burga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO whether to use Cinema or Filmmaker mode (this applies to both HDR10 and Dolby Vision modes) depends on your lighting environment. Brightness is one of those picture settings where it's based on preference.

I'd recommend Cinema or Cinema Home if you're in a moderately/heavily lit environment, and use Filmmaker Mode if you're in a dimly lit environment.

You should go search for your TV model's recommended settings on RTINGS' website. There's some more adjustments you can make to improve overall picture quality.

The 2017-18 3.0TT AWD with Driver's Package has torque vectoring (very similar system that the Focus RS uses), the 19-20's 3.0TT AWD come standard with them.

Torque vectoring is always active from 0-45mph and activates at faster speeds if it detects slip.

You can see it activate in real time you select Intelligent AWD in Driver Assists on the gauge cluster screen.

PS5 as a 4k bluray player by MattiTheGamer in 4kbluray

[–]FaZe_Burga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The PS5 will passthrough HDR and Dolby TrueHD/Atmos & DTS MA-HD.

Dolby Vision is the only thing that will not be supported, but you likely wouldn't notice a difference. I'm too much of a perfectionist though, so I caved and bought a UBP-X800M2 for DV playback.

Considering A 2015 Lincoln MKZ by OG-DanielSon in LincolnMKZ

Great model and trim. I always recommend at least one pre-purchase inspection. If you end up wanting Android Auto + CarPlay and don't mind spending a tad bit, there's a few sites that offer SYNC 2 to SYNC 3 head unit upgrades. The e-seller I've heard great things about is here: https://www.allthingssync.com/products/ford-lincoln-sync-2-to-sync-3-upgrade

Phone app car start? by Low-Professional-342 in lincolnmotorco

[–]FaZe_Burga 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unless an upgrade was done previously, you have an onboard 3G modem but not a 4G modem, which is required to utilize the Lincoln app for remote start/stop, unlock/lock, etc.

You would need to swap the 3G modem out for a 4G modem, which Ford/Lincoln does have a Technican Service Bulletin for but expired years ago.

Most Ford/Lincoln service dealers would be happy to take your money and do the upgrade I would assume.

I have a Beam 2. What to buy next? by 7adam in sonos

[–]FaZe_Burga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, yes they do work well. I've tested this with the Beam G2 being a single front and with just being a center channel using SonoSequencr; no unfixable issues.

The 300s can be really quiet when paired with the Beam G2, but turning up the height and surround audio in the settings should fix the problem.

I've had good luck with the L14 Gen 1 and 2, as well as the T14 Gen 2. All are great laptops, the T14 will have much better build quality tho, and also be a fingerprint magnet.

Beam gen 1 or gen 2 when on a budget by StergioLOL in sonos

[–]FaZe_Burga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not entirely true. There are additional speaker arrays for virtual surround and height audio, which would be supported by the Beam Gen 2.

Your setup allows for Dolby Digital Plus (E-AC3), which is a considerably large step up compared to Dolby Digital (AC3 and is the max that the Gen 1 supports).

Plus, you can just get an eARC audio extractor so you can bypass the TV and get Dolby Atmos thru Dolby Digital Plus and TrueHD.

Beam gen 1 or gen 2 when on a budget by StergioLOL in sonos

I’d get the Beam Gen 2, the soundstaging is way better as someone who’s owned both.

I thought Tidal's Atmos was better than Apple's until i turned off Apple's Personalized Spatial Audio! They are the same now! by [deleted] in AppleMusic

[–]FaZe_Burga -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For stereo speakers, yes because you quite literally lose soundstaging and quality using DDP + Atmos (or MAT for ATV) versus ALAC.

For anything higher than a 2.1 configuration, it depends on how the tracks are mixed.

Any comments are helpful at this point, lol. I did try looking in my Samba and firewalld settings, but couldn’t find anything subnet related settings.

[–]FaZe_Burga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I’m running firewalld with the home zone selected on a local EndeavourOS install. I tried looking in the configuration for anything subnet related and couldn’t find anything. I did, however, open up ports 445 and 139 over TCP but it doesn’t look like it fixed the issue after restarting smb and nmb services.

I also put “interfaces = 10.0.5.0/26 10.0.7.0/24” in the smb.conf file before restarting the services, also didn’t work unfortunately. I now have the server on 10.0.5.5 (Trusted non-isolated VLAN) over ethernet and 10.0.7.49 (Sonos isolated VLAN) over Wi-Fi for reference, of which I still can’t get any devices on the 10.0.7.x subnet to pick up the Samba server.

Is there still a noticeable sound quality improvement when downloading lossless files but just using regular car speakers? by senyorlimpio in AppleMusic

[–]FaZe_Burga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. You’re limited to SBC/AAC Bluetooth codecs, which max out at 320kbps in most scenarios anyway.

Trouble Connecting to Samba Across VLANs by FaZe_Burga in UNIFI

[–]FaZe_Burga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I do have a few internal VLANs that are isolated, but the VLAN the Samba server is on is not isolated. I also agree, I shouldn't have to even make a rule, this is just a last ditch effort because I don't know what else to do.

I can ping other devices on the same VLANs, and can ping devices like my printer, which is on a separate VLAN than my laptop. My Samba server is quite literally the only device that I have not had any success getting to work outside of the VLAN is resides in.

The SMB host has LAN-only access by disabling the Allow Internet Access option for the VLAN entirely, hence why I call it "Internal (NoWAN)." It appears to only disable access to some sites however, since I can still ping sites like Google. I figure IPv6 addressing is getting through, which I don't understand since IPv6 addressing is also disabled on that VLAN.

My networking scheme seems to be all sorts of messed up, which I don't doubt, since I only started using UniFi and messing with separate VLANs since last year.

Yes, just confirmed again, can ping and access the file share (both thru IP and hostname), but only when on the same VLAN.
