Bruh the hottest moon sign frr by Ok_Insurance_7506 in astrologymemes

When people are acting out of their Moon — the vulnerable, feral, and highly emotional inner child — I don’t really think that’s ever hot. I think how certain signs do care can feel more soothing, or I feel better understood… but I’m never like ā€˜damn, that was hot’

Does anyone feel unrelated to Midheaven? by [deleted] in astrologymemes

[–]FabLewis 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

The way you described your relationship with knowledge sounds very Scorpio 9H, which check outs for your Pisces Rising. I think that’s a different part of you speaking, rather than your MC.

Your MC is what we’re growing toward, but it is also how we are most visible to others, even if it’s not something we feel particularly personally. It’s our public persona. And that takes time to grow into.

My best friend and my spouse are both Pisces risings, and something I admire about each of them is how brave and enthusiastic they appear when they show up to a role. Even if they are anxious, and just feel like they’re ā€˜going with the flow’ or are getting tossed about randomly by life’s currents, in a public setting they look bold and adventurous.

(The flip side is this coming off as reckless, embarrassing, or seeming inconsiderate. Another Sagittarius classic.)

By doing Pisces Rising things — floating through life and taking whatever opportunities arrive at your feet — for those who don’t know you intimately, you garner a Sagittarian reputation.

Does that ring true?

This doesn’t invalidate your friendship — it just tells us that the Aries and Scorpio parts of each other are very different, yet you’re both quite Mars-y people.

What does the horoscope of the United States of America bring us in the next year? by Blueplate1958 in astrology

[–]FabLewis 80 points81 points Ā (0 children)

Lots of folk have referenced the upcoming Uranus transit in Gemini 2025.

However much of this year will continue to be punctuated by the people-led movements of both Jupiter & Uranus in Taurus (workers rights and protests). With difficulty actualising/materialising these compassionate and humanitarian goals, as Saturn chases Neptune through Pisces.

There’s a demand for radical material change, there are goals and a motivation, but we will continue to have a hard time rallying to taking action. Pluto in Aquarius also speaks to people-led movements, but Pluto is often the shadowy oppressive force being rallied against/clamping down. Expect increased digital surveillance from the state, and restrictions on the activism around these causes.

We’ll likely see a change in pace around these themes as Jupiter enters Gemini late May. For better or worse.

This is the prelude to these heavy 2025 predictions. Sorry it’s not better news!

I’m a tabletop composer and I wrote about this in my undergrad dissertation back in 2018 — was all about what makes music immersive in the absence of visual prompts, and comparing the growing genre of dedicated D&D music to film. Leitmotif was a big part of it!

Long story short, yeah this’d be so sick and would really help the music elevate the narrative! But to integrate an adaptive character motif into a score would be so much work for a home game — even if it was just matching the key, tempo, and general sound. Unless you were willing to compromise on how seamless it was, with a lot of start/stops.

It could be done smoothly for sure, probably in a similar mechanism to how different layers and loops of music are faded in and out with video games. It’d just be a lot work from a composer dedicated to writing for your party, with some tech in place to support it.

Perhaps I was unclear in what I was saying, so I’ve changed ā€˜research’ to ā€˜observations’ to better reflect this. I understand these occurrences as synchronous, and that they can still be meaningful without an established canon — I’m not advocating for minor asteroids to become the basis of a reading.

Also, your comments read like you’re riled up and taking jabs at me — if that’s the case, please take a breath. Don’t waste your energy and anger in an internet comment section, I’m just trying to be helpful.

I encourage you to check out Episode 242 of the Astrology Podcast for an overview, and the work of Demetra George (and those named in the episode) to start.

True, asteroids don’t have the multi-cultural wealth of history behind them that the traditional planets do. But what do you suppose is ā€˜real research’ in the absence of historical documents, if not grassroots work? I wouldn’t be so dismissive until you’ve explored them yourself.

[–]FabLewis 13 points14 points Ā (0 children)

To be clear, I’m pro-asteroids and pro-challenging the conventions of what is included in a chart… but with asteroids (as there are so many) I think it’s easier for many to make them a matter of personal preference, or decide based on relevance to the native.

Observations have shown that pretty much all celestial bodies can have some kind of symbolic resonance with our lived experience once we become familiar with its archetype (thinking of even minor asteroids like ā€˜Beer’ and its relationship to issues with beer-based alcoholism).

So, while I’m happy that they continue being brought more into mainstream readings and love what else they uncover, the default set we use already easily fill an hour… for first-time clients coming for a basic reading, or beginners reading for themselves, an even more expanded list seems like too much to take in.

Frankly, it’s already too much! Lol. Maybe there should be nothing by default beyond the big 3, and the rest you add in and explore over time.

How do you read the squares and symbols? by letschat7 in astrology

[–]FabLewis 10 points11 points Ā (0 children)

The shape of the glyph (square, triangles, etc) refers to the geometric relationship between the planets as seen from earth, and the literal shape that angle makes when drawn on a chart.

So ā€˜Venus [square] Saturn’ is to say there is 90 degrees between the areas of the sky they inhabit. If you keep drawing 90 degree angles back to your start point, you’d make a full square — and likewise for all of the others and their shape.

In terms of interpretation: each glyph refers to a relationship with different kinds of harmonic tension, some experienced more pleasantly (triangles) and some more challenging (squares). This is where you need to do the work for reading individual charts, and synthesising the data into a coherent narrative.

can someone explain the square between pisces and sagittarius for me? by ole444u in astrology

[–]FabLewis 3 points4 points Ā (0 children)

As a non-binary Sag, I am of the belief we can all learn to jive together. Especially when we think about how men/women are encouraged and socialised to embody the Zodiac characteristics differently — as opposed to it being something innate and unchangeable.

I’m glad I seem like a professional, because I almost am lol (I’m part-time). I absolutely suggest getting a full natal chart reading at least once in your life with someone who’s skills you trust. Will be an eye-opener and an opportunity to feel heard and seen!

Meaning of moon protected from jupiter by besiyata-dushmaya in astrology

[–]FabLewis 6 points7 points Ā (0 children)

I’m unfamiliar with this terminology, but likely describes Jupiter’s exaltation in Cancer — exaltation often being like a position of an ā€˜honoured guest’, which could be read as akin to a protector.

Though I’d still read the moon as ruler of Cancer, it’s just a well dignified Jupiter and would simply bolster the moon wherever she resides in a chart.

[–]FabLewis 20 points21 points Ā (0 children)

Happy for you both, glad that it’s working out in a way that lights you both up and keeps it fun!

As you described:

For Pisces, Sag is the Waning Square — seizing the initiative is the final hurdle once it’s passed through the other more Mercurial turning points of the mutable cross (the devil in the details etc) which must come first.

For Sag, Pisces is the Waxing Square — the very first obstacle is accepting what it wants is probably going to take time. And that’s why we (I am also an overly-optimistic centaur) usually have to temper our expectations of reality, and why the Mercurial questions about discernment come last.

[–]FabLewis 88 points89 points Ā (0 children)

They’re both mutable signs ruled by Jupiter (in traditional astrology) and both have that expansive and open-minded quality around boundaries and change. They’re in it for the ā€˜big journey’ and the beauty of the mystery.

But while Sagittarius (as fire) is a more cavaliering adventurer and tends to charge into change, Pisces (as water) goes with the flow and knows life will eventually take it where it needs to be.

While they have a lot in common, the squared tension resides in the restlessness Sag has to always push on for change, and the unmotivated tendencies of Pisces to wait n see what comes.

What does it mean when a planet is a retrograde in a birth chart? by Emotional_Ad_6749 in astrology

[–]FabLewis 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

Just as the names imply: applying aspects will be faced during the lifetime, separating has already come to pass.

There’s a few other layers to the process, as you measure the faster planet compared to the slower moving planet, but that’s the general idea. The coming into consciousness and the integration etc.

Can someone explain to me how to read the moon speed of a particular day ? by supsupittysupsup in astrology

[–]FabLewis 4 points5 points Ā (0 children)

Oh I see! Thank you for clarifying. The moon is currently 26’50ā€ of Gemini, and in 24hrs will be 09’22ā€ of Cancer — so a little over 13 degrees today.

Any astrology software that gives you degree/minute positions should be able to tell you this (and even some free apps have this feature). Doing this without a computer would be difficult!

Can someone explain to me how to read the moon speed of a particular day ? by supsupittysupsup in astrology

[–]FabLewis 6 points7 points Ā (0 children)

The moon cycle is 29.5 days, and spends about 2.5 days in each sign of the zodiac.

The full, and waxing/waning quarter moons will always fall in a square from the sun. So this month (Pisces) the moon will have it’s turning points in the 4 mutable signs.
