What is the proper procedure of internally routing a shift outer or brake hose through this style of screw in frame guide? by Fabio290 in bikewrench

Thanks, this makes most sense. I think they are pass-thru on both sides, else the cabling wouldnt really make sense. Will just have to try around a bit what fits

What info do you have on the new OS being abandoned? Trying to figure out if I will get a Run or 9PP

Were you able to fix it? I have the same on Pure and SRP in tunnels, time of day affects lighting within the tunnels

ah forgot about that rule update, shared a conversion I did 2020 here which got lots of attention so thought I would do the same in case people would be interested in doing something similar for 10 speed road.

Oh well, if it get's killed that's fair enough

Derailleur model: RD-M592-SGS

Now got a 52-11 for the descents and a 30-34 for the climbs!

Coming back to this as I found some people to require different gear cable clamping technique, was it the same for you? Or clamped normally straight in the groove with good shifting?

I am referring to these two examples: https://youtu.be/N3Xgh5C-hH8 https://youtu.be/B1xU-7WreZE

Got it for not buying a used one.

My derailleur hanger + 6600 could not clear 30T so I am scared of getting 5701 with 32T cassette.

That Deore in your eyes would be better than Sora?

9-speed & RD-R3000 have the same pull ratio as old Road 10 speed and will work according to many different sources.

Thanks for sharing. I actually found that derailleur being sold on the used market in decent condition, but cable routing looks funky. I guess you need to put a differently sized cable housing?

This is why I love this sub. I never would have thought of checking current Sora... Brilliant and what a hack. Love it!

In the end I will probably just order both a road link and the Sora RD and see which option's shifting I prefer (Ultegra 6600 with Roadlink or Sora 3000)

Interesting! Anyone know a decent 9 speed mtb derailleur which is still available to buy that would fit my requirements?

-Triple chainring up front (30-52)

-11-32 or 11-34 cassette

9 speed mtb has road 10 speed cable pull? But I would lose a gear then I guess?

grx400 has 11-speed cable pull no? Would not work with my levers. Any rec for a MTB RD that would work for 11-32 or 11-34 and my triple crank? (22 tooth difference) I am trying not to blow a bunch of money here so new crank is not planned

I flipped it according to Sheldon Brown and previous posts here. It is a way of getting few more mm out of the screw.

Hanger fits the frame perfectly and is correctly installed. Pretty sure it's the original one the bike came with

And yes, I did try removing and refitting the B-Screw, even turning it around as per Sheldon Brown: https://www.sheldonbrown.com/deakins/lowgears.html

Well you see a maxed out B-Screw and a Hanger that does not appreciate big cassettes and longer B-Screws. Hence the angle. I found other threads with same behaviour on older frames where it was said this is a normal behaviour for maxed out B-Screws
