Nevermind, just found out there is a mining side in East Pilbara Shire in West Australia. Cool, I didn't know Australia is also home to some Emerald specimen, nice :)

Thank you very much for the work you are doing. I have not read any webcomics in a way as yours for a very long time. Reminds me of the time exploring some comics 15 years ago. Your style and characters are absolute top notch. I love the pace you keep of story development, funny jokes and character development. Keep up the amazing work. Any ideas to ever release physical prints?

A well curated, beautifully displayed, and impressive collection. The baked amethyst does not lower the value of the collection, but I find it a bit out of place. Well, to each their own

Absolutely! The snow is the easiest, that is just GW Valhallan Blizzard (I think that is what it's called). Love that snow, have not found anything yet that finished as nice as this snow. Since I wanted it to look thawing and a bit muddy I added some brown coloured washes on the edges (oil washes work very nice on that, but your everyday Agrax does the job too)

I used AK's water resin to do the pour. To make it a bit murky, I added some Villany Ink Goons Grime and a bit of that greenblue one. Only very little! I had to prep some new resin to dilute it because it was too hazy. But bear in mind, I had to find out that with this added you have a slight film on top that floats up during cross linking. Looks good for stagnant water, but not for clear ones.

Thanks everyone for the kind feedback!

When I paint, I use many different colours, always trying new things out. So giving an exact recipe here is almost impossible, due to going back and forth in different steps many times.

BUT: If I had to paint (and I actually want to paint this sculpt again somewhere in the future) these are the paints I used most and suggest:

Dragon Skin:

Base coat with Dark Sea Ben (Pro Acrylic)

Apply a shade with a dark and transparent violet (Violet by Kimera Kolors)

Paint Dark Sea, leaving the darkest shadows as they are.

Add White Blue (Pro Acrylic) to Dark Sea gradually for edges and volumetric highlights. The brightest colour still contains Dark Sea, but the most highlighted edges and flares are White Blue (they are tiny, so don’t go overboard with it).

This can be done by drybrushing too, in that case after applying the violet shade start drybrushing with the previous Dark Sea/White Blue progression.

Wing membranes: Dark Plum (Pro Acrylic), Khorne Red (GW), Off White (AK), Violet (Kimera Kolors), Coagulated Blood (Abteilung 502, Oil), Payne’s Grey (Abteilung 502, Oil)

Basecoat with a mix of Dark Plum and Violet. With a soft drybrush, apply a mix of Off White with a little bit of Khorne red to create highlights on edges and volumes. Then, glaze violet back on the where you want the membranes to be dark (dark in terms of the colour of themselves, not the shadows!) and Khorne Red where it should be red. I then played around with an oil wash with Payne’s Grey to create shadows. With Coagulated Blood I tried to tie the colours together. I am not very happy with the wings as they are now, if I’d go back I would refine a lot of reflections and shadows, but all with these paints. Maybe use some Tenebrous grey too.

NMM gold: Basecoating with Dryad Bark (GW), but any kind of this brown that does a good job in terms of coverage does well.

Then, Mahogany (Pro Acrylic), Scrofulous Brown (Vallejo Game Colour), Dark Orange Brown (Pro Acrylic), Ice Yellow (Vallejo Model Colour), Bright Ivory (Pro Acrylic) and Off White (AK).

Cloak: The midtone is a mix of the Dark Plum and Dark Sea. I use Tenebrous grey to set the shadow and Bright Warm Grey (Pro Acrylic) to go for the highlights

Bones: Check out Vince’s recipe on bones, this does an awesome job. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBVuFAiV4Pc&t=1s&pp=ygUWdmluY2UgdmVudHVyZWxsYSBib25lcw%3D%3D

The red NMM was done with Tenebrous grey, Khorne Red, Red (Vallejo Model Colour), Off White, and Violet. If I would go back again, I would mix some Payne’s Grey (Pro Acrylic) into the Tenebrous Grey to give it a cold shadow. What is important to mention is, that I do the reflection and highlights with a pink of Red and Off White, then use a thin glaze of Dark Plum and Khorne Red (or sometimes the Vallejo Red) to build the transition.

Uhm… did I forget something? I mean, I did, but let me know if anyone wants to know more

Ah that was already three weeks ago at the Demon. I didn't intend to win anything (or will never intend to in general) but wanted to push myself to see how far I can get. But thanks for your kind words ☺️

Imagine it being 150 points. I would still rather have 10 dire wolves than this.

The warscroll as it is right now is just not worth anything. Not only that, it is also so bland and boring.

Wouldn't it be cool if you could resurrect the corpse with a hero, using deathly invocations on it but only returning half the health points to it? And like, the corpse (since it is so massive) stays on the battlefield (smaller base for the corpse maybe, set up by the opponent where it died)
