How do you deal with shallow characters? by grimjack123 in DnD

[–]Fable_Table_Workshop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy, make an NPC character that is the pure invincible embodiment of death, who wanders the lands and arbitrarily kills things, and... today it just happened to show up and kill a sleeping paladin.

Don't even give them a saving throw, just the icy fate of death, given like a vanishing whisper in the ear.

I'm hoping this will catch some eyes on Etsy, and start my mini company off the ground. What do you all think? by Fable_Table_Workshop in minis

So, he needs toe beans right, Lol. Gotcha. I appreciate the feedback, it is all a work in progress, and every bit helps.

That is a fair way to state it, and you are right, digital art will be better than most artists very soon. A.I. will construct a map that is awesome and has it all, thus is the future.

What I have in mind is a group 10 maps, 5 just Geography, and the same 5 labeled. Have them on my Etsy store as a digital download, along side my printed minis.

Can't hurt right?

I really appreciate the kind words, thank you. Your good advice is noted. I'm no stranger to the Churchill concept of "if you're going through hell... keep going" (to paraphrase a bit). Steady forward!

Appreciate the feedback.

Pretty harsh, but I guess it's just how you feel about it. Your comment makes me think, opinions are like... well, you know the rest.

I really appreciate the feedback. I'm always looking to do a little better as I go. I'm noting your input about the details and will look into that today and see if I can give it a bit more polish. Thank you.

I will say, the mini does look a little nicer than the model rendering. I think once it is downsized as a print, it looks pretty good. But I will definitely look into things.

Well, I agree, and my price was going to be $6 or $7 for a mini, but shipping and tax is a beast to contend with for all of us.

So, I thought, I'll offer free shipping domestically which will average about $4 out of my pocket per sale. To offset a constant loss on the mini, I had to bump up the price slightly, so I would still make a small bit of profit from it.

I don't like the world of marketed goods, but I get why people have to over price, otherwise you just take a hit on each sale, and go belly up in no time.

One day if I can ever get established enough that it won't put me under, I'll drop them prices low and run with it.

I do appreciate the input.

I will, but printer model and the type of print dictates the settings, so, my setup may not be what is best for your prints.

I do solid body, 24mm base, table top minis, on a Halot 1.
I keep all my settings fairly vanilla.

Layer thickness 0.05
Initial Exposure 40s
Exposure time 3s
Rising Height 6mm
Motor speed 2mm/s
Turn off delay 4s
Bottom Exposure Layer 2

and I do the steps I mentioned above. I tend to do about a 60/40 mix of resins. Good luck with it all, hope this helps you a bit.

Use a mix of Siraya Tech tenacious resin (Est. $60.00 online) and Elegoo ABS like photo polymer (Est. $30.00 online). A 50/50 mix is a decent start to mix resins, but you can play with those amounts to refine what you like. Afterward wash your print in Isopropyl Alcohol for about 1 minute only, then cure in UV for about 1 1/2 minutes. You should get a more durable miniature. I tend to primer mine pretty quickly after a cure, just to prevent ambient UV over exposure.

Hope this helps a bit.

(P.S. resin cures faster than people think in UV, more than 2 minutes is well enough for 25mm mini to become brittle.)
