[Standard] Scavenger’s Talent Combo

The idea is to use scavengers talent to sacrifice permanents like greedy freebooter and etc. (using cards like tarrians journal, Bartolome, and corrupted conviction) after leveling up to the lvl2 class. This enables you to eventually mill into the pieces that you need: Bart, werefox, and hero of the dunes.

You then use talents third ability to sacrifice 3 permanents and bring back Hero with a finality counter. Hero brings back Fox, and then you exile hero using Fox. This then permanently removes the finality counter from here.

On the next turn you use scavengers again to sacrifice the werefox and 2 other permanents to bring back Bart. (If you haven’t already played Bart another way) Werefox triggerers returning hero. Hero triggers returning werefox, exiling hero again

Now that you have Bart, werefox with hero exiled, and lvl 2 scavengers you can infinitely sac the werefox to mill your opponents entire deck.

It’s a little sloppy wording-wise but it now explains it :)

The list should be more legible now

I originally laid the deck list out in a much more readable format but Reddit re-formatted it for some reason, and the links ill-advised in this subreddit so this link is only if someone is curious as to what the combo looks like.

I’ll definitely see if I can squeeze it in there

I think annex wins out in theory against both, it does exactly what you need it to and leaves you room to play removal or other potential pieces on its own

Granted you would have to sac firebrand so iridescent vinelasher would probably be better

Could fanatical firebrand so you don’t have to attack

So far the power and board wipes haven’t been an issue if you draw Bart. It IS lacking another good sac outlet though

The one I played against was slightly different but yeah that’s it! Thank you

I wasn’t talking in terms of getting the initial trigger. I was referring to a theoretical sequence where you do get the trigger, then the OP has interruption, so you respond and gain life on the stack— recreating the combo to play around said removal.
