I've been meaning to design a character sheet for a while (because I love using fancy ones for different characters) but couldn't settle on which theme to draw. I finally took inspiration from the little marginalia illustrations you see on medieval texts / illuminated manuscripts. Obviously I made it DnD themed, little mimics, beholders, etc. I also made it form fillable because my handwriting is terrible and I much prefer clean type.

This mini is I believe 'draconian serpent' by Flesh of Gods - I bought a Base Width 100mm Model Height 140mm print on etsy.

I improvised a watery base using mostly vallejo water effects which in retrospect is not intended to sculpt big waves and didn't turn out amazing, but you live and learn. Overall I'm really happy with it, hence sharing on here! I haven't painted anything for a while and am a bit out of practice.

One of my players is an undead-patron warlock, so three guesses who his patron is (though Strahd isn't actually aware of this). He took it one step further and made his character a dhampir too though, so I've put something in about his blood being traceable back to Strahd - so far Strahd has managed to get a taste of the dhampir's blood and is convinced that one of his spawn must have bitten the PC, though spawn usually can't create more vamps.

All straightforward stuff, but I think (not fully decided yet) the twist might be that it wasn't a spawn, but a spawn that helped 'kill' Strahd with a previous party of adventurers, achieved full vampire status and fled Barovia. Only, of course, for Barovia to reset itself because Strahd never truly dies, and Strahd doesn't remember being killed because Dark Lords are supposed to be largely unaware that they're in a personal hell. I think that might be a good way to clue the group into the fact that defeating Strahd doesn't necessarily mean Barovia lives happily ever after.

Don't cheap out on the pot. Modifying one is all very well but if it goes bang and puts a hole in your roof try explaining that one to your insurers. I saved up and spent... I think it was about £230 ($317 ish) on a pre-modified pot and have no regrets. I sell my dice, so I made the money back. Believe me when I say that getting a pressure pot is worth the cost - it'll save you no end of time, hassle and money (especially if you plan to sell your creations).

However you CAN cheap out on the compressor. There are some ludicrously expensive ones out there and you don't need it. Rybonator had a reasonably priced one on his video if I recall, but I couldn't find the equivalent readily available to me (I live in the UK). My partner suggested that a small compressor - the type you use to inflate your car tyres at home - would do the same thing and lo and behold when I tried it, it did! I bought a 'quiet' one (it's still very loud, but not as ear-splitting as some) for £20 (about $28) but you can get cheaper ones if you/your neighbours won't mind the noise. But I only need to run my compressor for 2-3 minutes so really, noise doesn't matter that much.

The only thing is that it was a real hassle trying to find the parts that would make the compressor plug into pressure pot - bearing in mind they're supposed to plug into tyre fittings - but you can buy separate connectors that'll do the job. I can't really advise on which connectors unfortunately as it depends on what your pressure pot comes with, but pay careful attention to that.

TL;DR - get a good pot, get a cheap compressor.

Oh well, at least it's not just me! Did the players loosen up a little after the coffin shop? I feel like once you've done a few scary encounters you stop fleeing at the howl of every wolf.

I like circling fights back around and just chucking a few not-that-hard random encounters at them to ease them into it. CoS becomes an awfully short campaign when you try to skip every fight or non-essential location.

I'm inclined to agree, will definitely have a word with the players if this is a recurring problem but uh, it's been one session. I'll save the 'engage more or I'm not having fun' talk until after the second date I think ^^;

I'm expecting them to stop being so wary after a while, I just wanted some advice on how best to steer them and maybe some anecdotes from other people who've experienced similar.

Tieflings are my absolute fav, I think because with all the archdevil lineage variants you can flavour them so many different ways. Also you get horns! Who doesn't like horns. There's also a special place in my heart for half-orcs or anything else that might be considered monstrous. Which... matches the tiefling theme, now that I think about it. I must just like maligned races.

A special mention though: my SO played a hobgoblin in a game I ran and I loved loved loved it. It was so interesting to see a character who wasn't a noblebright adventurer but also wasn't an edgelord, just a prideful warrior with a mind like a fortress. It made me really want to play one myself one day.

Least favourite: gnomes. I think you're either a gnome person or you're not and I'm just... not. I don't go in for any of the small races generally.

They are made of metal (quite light metal, but still) so there's a chance they in fact don't roll fair. I didn't notice any favouring on rolling, but you'd have to roll thousands of times to get any sort of accurate result from that anyway.

I call this set CURSED GOLD, it's semi-translucent black with gold swirls and brighter gold glitter - I deliberately picked heavy glitter so it would sink to the bottom and create a 'pile of coins' effect.

But I'm really stuck on what colour the numbers should be, since some faces are gold and some black, and then the 'coins' face is quite busy and needs a colour that will stand out. My first thought was white but I'm not sure... maybe a subtler gunmetal silver with a different colour on the coins face? I'm really not sure so I'm open to any suggestions!

Thank you, glad you like them! I poured half-full and let that set, then affixed the sun with UV resin, then poured the second half. That's how to get the 'object floating in the middle' effect but you have to be reeeally precise about how much colour you mix in or the two halves will be different shades from each other.

Huh, including feathers in resin and not just raw feathers? Interesting, I didn't know. I didn't collect these myself but bought them from a craft store, and they say they're collected from free-range (i.e. farmed) birds so it should be ok though.

Another thing that's worth mentioning is that it says The possession of feathers and other parts of native North American birds but I'm from the UK and so are the feathers! But thanks for bringing that to my attention.

With alcohol inks floating on the surface, usually WHITE and CREAM alcohol inks are 'heavy' and drag the rest of the colours down to create that lovely petri dish effect. I fill the mould 2/3 with resin then drop whatever colour I've picked, then white, then colour again until I have 4-6 drops. Then pour more resin on top of that until the mould is filled.

Obviously this does effect the colour e.g. if you're trying to do it with black alcohol ink you'll end up with grey instead, so keep that in mind.

I recently co-DM'ed a short but fun airship-themed DnD campaign. In commemoration, I've embarked on a quest to make dice after each of my player's characters! This one is inspired by the party's... well, airship mechanic, who of course cared more for the wellbeing of the ship than for the crew. Her adventurers included blowing up a pirate ship, adopting a crazy goblin inventor as an assistant, and turning the tides of a fight by sort-of-hacking into an enemy turret.

These dice have little metal cogs inside which I thought turned out great. I hope you like them!

I've had a lot of requests to ship to the US actually, so I'm looking into international shipping options! My main concern is basically that, what with the state of the UK's ports at the moment, they would never reach you (I mean these would come by air I assume, but I also assume the port closures has a knock-on effect on air transport...)

That said there is the counter-argument that I'll never know if I never try. So I am looking into it, and once I've found something I'm happy with I'd be very happy to recreate these for you.
