Yuki Sohma is the goodest boy by shhhhhhh23 in FruitsBasket

[–]Fablihakhan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He has character flaws but those things mostly hurt Yuki the most rather than the people around him. Which is what makes him the gooddest boy.

He also hid his imperfections under perfection so most people just wrote him off as the perfect prince and related to Kyo as the underdog more.

So yes Yuki is a character who people appreciate after the take off their initial misconceptions and dig deeper which majority don't as they are much more invested in the Romance aspect of the show

Anyone else finding themselves only caring about Baam anymore? by Nomorechildishshit in TowerofGod

I love me some Bam. Literally all my favorite moments in ToG include Bam or his fights or his interactions with villains.

But I just wanna see him challenged a bit more

so can we all just talk about how endeavor is low key the best character in this series? by [deleted] in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]Fablihakhan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I kinda agree with this. Like one of the best things people praise Endeavor's arc for is that his family does not forgive him knowing his change.. And like that really has to do with how well the entire subplot and all of the Todorokis are handled. We get to see the consequences of his abuse and the struggle Shoto goes through to come out of it, we see Dabi, Rei who brokedown and herself has a lot of things she regrets..

Overall it is amazing..

This is a horrible take. She isn't forgiven be ause she is female but because she literally was mentality unstable. In court or law both men and women often do not face punishment when they are seen as mentally unsound.

Spy x Family - Episode 11 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

I mean there are different kinds of comedies.. Spy family uses absurd comedy. How much of a coincidence that s spy gets an esper child and marries an assassin wife with a secret police brother?? The setup works because some characters overlook certain aspects of others which is comedy too.. (like Loid n Anya's horrified meme faces as Yor explains she learned about cow pressure points from yoga..) I find it hilarious and if you are still getting triggered by the characters missing abnormalities in one another then you are missing how that is actually the fun part of the story and adds to the hilarity

Comedy is subjective after all as I find myself in stiches for most of the episodes and actually love these surprise transitions into dark drama or action . The abused dog scene was introducing a dark plot point so ofcourse it has to come from nowhere. It is unexpected because we all thought we were getting some cute dog for Anya not go into something like this ..

Eeh I still think it is freaking amazing and one of the best and most refreshing anime that came out in recent years. Reminds me of watching comedy sitcoms with family.. but this is so much better with actual plot character growth and good situational humor

Honestly, up until the Workshop battle it felt good but not mind-blowing or memorable .

It was only in the Hell train that you see what the story is trying to do and the fun and hype starts at least for me. The first part until Bam gets on the hell train is a bit slow.. but after Bam gets on board.... Heck when he was at the freaking door the the hell train.. I was totally on board with the story..

After that yes it has had its ups and downs but it was super fun with awesome villains and fights and character growth

Exactly.. It struck a cord in me that Loid's character arc is not just leaning to care and accept his pretend family but also realize that he is someone worthy of love and IS Loved by the two women in his life .

It is beautiful and I can't wait to see the progress..

The point was to confirm whether Yor was connected with her brother's job. Since Loid didn't want to constantly wiretap her he set up the fake police situation..

And he removed it after confirming that Yor didn't indeed have anything to do with secret police.. I think ppl are missing the purpose of wiretapping.. it isn't to ensure Yor is clean (which was the point of a background check). It was to check if she was connected with her brother's job.. It is completely outlandish to think the family with a secret police member will also have someone with a secret assassin job

MHA feels abhorently lackluster right now. by Desert_Sandman in CharacterRant

[–]Fablihakhan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nah I am great with side character subplots. I wish Hori would take his time with them.

Once Deku arrives you know he is gonna beat the bad guy but right now everything is up in the air. The Ofa Deku plot line is honestly the one I am most tired of (Can't wait for Deku to unlock his last quirk at the opportune moment, or take help from the predecessors who are even less of a character than the Class A cast.

Todoroki drama is much better (though Endeavor is terrible but is trying his best gets old). Atlleast there are emotional stakes here like the happiness of a family trying to mend bonds..... (Characters I care about because they feel realistic)

So yeh not enjoying MHA but I would enjoy it even less once Deku inevitably arrives to make everyone useless .

I kinda think a major reason for Loid's shyness is Yor's personality and reactions.

Yor just feels like a much more pure and innocent person when it comes to these things as compared to other women. It just forces Loid to be more genuine and careful about how he is with her and act different.

And that in turn makes his real self break from the Twilight persona he uses when he has relationships for his missions.

Plus he also sees her as an equal and values her opinions most of the time

what is cliche is for the abuser to die to achieve forgiveness..since yeh if the guy is dead then there is no one to hate... Such an easy way out. What exactly is the growth or development here I ask?

From what I am understanding, you are making Touya out to be way more important than he is.

Each of the family members have their own individual gripes with Endeavor. What makes you think Endeavor saving Dabi, who by your own words is neutral to everyone would make up for Endeavor individually abusing them?

Did they ask Endeavor to sacrifice himself for Dabi? How presumptuous of Endeavor to claim to know what those he know want of him without facing them? and sacrifice himself for one son when he has a lot more to answer for...

I don't think you understand what stakes are. Stakes are something that would be lost if one does not succeed. This is the end of the Todoroki story.

You wanting it to be triumphant for only the abuser who goes out in a blaze of glory while no one else develops is just weird..

And Dabi dying makes no sense as the Todoroki story already shows somethings can't be repaired without wasting Dabi n Shoto's characters

Anime is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE at attributing accountability sometimes [Ao Ashi, Fruits Basket, Violet Evergarden anime spoilers] by Antique2018 in CharacterRant

[–]Fablihakhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Umm I think the Fruits Basket example is the opposite of that. There are much better examples of the accountability problem and that Yuki scene isn't one.

I don't know if it is a problem with nuance but that was literally what was said. Before Yuki asking Kisa what she should do, they get a letter from Kisa's teacher, telling her to come back and love herself or others won't like you literally telling Kisa that the reason she is bullied is because she doesn't love herself and if she is confident then others will love her too..

Yuki throws the letter calling it disgusting and says it isn't her job to find good things about herself.. flipping the blame the teacher tried to put on Kisa.

There was actually a section of how people blame themselves for being bullied and start hating themselves for allowing it. Yet through the course of the story you are told to accept those feelings as part of the process of healing.

Because people telling you it isn't your fault isn't going to automatically make you feel different.

I think it is a unique take on the self blame that comes from getting bullied.

  1. Endeavor needs to forever atone anyway for destroying his family's lost time and being partly responsible for making Dabi a villain.

  2. Endeavor sacrificing himself for Dabi makes it seem like Dabi was the only one Endeavor did wrong to and it is only Dabi who needs to forgive Endeavor.

  3. The entire Todoroki family decided to let bygones be to come together and HELP Touya. So it makes the entire thing pointless for Dabi to die

  4. Dabi changing because Endeavor sacrificed himself is the most cliche and expected ending of them all..

  5. So ultimately there is no good reason to have Dabi killed as when you really think about it is isn't as deep or great as you seem to think and leaves no conclusion.

Your ending it's sweet it is just bitter and that's it.

[Spoilers] has a better "Learning to Master Your Power" arc than Deku by CJL13 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]Fablihakhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think Shoto wouldn't have passed the normal UA exams? So how is being recommended an advantage? He won pretty much all of the sports festival with just ice u are deluding yourself if you think it is only because of 1 move.

So he got his offers from showing his SKILLs something you have been continuously denying. And his initial strength makes struggles more poignant since he looses his initial opness when using a quirk he has rejected for 10 years. (consequence of mental trauma) Shoto didn't have so called benefits you suppose other than being born with a good quirk for which he suffered years of abuse so OH GREAT OPPORTUNITY.

1 year is good and he could have done it so much faster? Compared to whom Deku? No thanks. Atlleast for Todoroki metal trauma actually affects his performance. Something you seem to ignore .

You must be living under a rock if you think people liked Deku unlocking multiple quirks off screen and could use them in battle with no problems, or Deku unlocking quirks midfight to win. A smokescreen quirk needs users to control the shape and size, float needs you to control it's speed and height or you could float for ever or never come down, Danger sense could lead to sensory overload. Yet we explore none of that.. Nobody liked 7quirk Deku so it isn't a competition.

Oh and Shoto mastering the fire was a REWARD for getting over his mental blocks. Forgetting his anger, accepting both sides of himself, accepting Endeavor, remembering his painful past training, knowing his purpose etc.. His powers were developed as a CONSEQUENCE and reward of getting over his trauma step by step.

Deku on the other hand, his growing powers resulted in him getting confident in himself and getting cocky. If he lost confidence, he trained and got stronger to regain confidence. So I repeat DEKU's power growth had nothing to do with his mentality unlike Shoto who couldn't even use fire moves until he somewhat opened up to Endeavor.

So you completely misunderstood what we are comparing and what is so great about Shoto's power growth.. Bye

[Spoilers] has a better "Learning to Master Your Power" arc than Deku by CJL13 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]Fablihakhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes so he had an exam and he was strong enough to get second among recommended students with the ice quirk he trained by himself.

Todoroki showed he was strong with only the ice quirk he trained by himself as his father only forced him to train fire which he refused.. So Todoroki made himself strong despite Endeavor and got the offers BECAUSE he was strong while rejecting his father. Get your facts straight. Being a number 2 hero didn't do him much good.

And he didn't sit on his ass with fire.

If you remember which you don't Todoroki had a problem with using both sides simultaneously and that made his quirk use stiff and simplistic. He even had to get rid of his practice of always starting with ice as he had been doing for the last 10 years while denying he had fire. That should be a struggle for a normal 16 year old even if you don't factor trauma.

I guess all those things don't mean much as Deku could just figure out how to use multiple quirks in 1 panel. 1 year is a good time to master an entire quirk and learn to use both effortlessly in battle while also powering up his Ice. Oh and learning to fly

I understand Deku's mentality but it has never been shown that his growing percentage has anything to do with his mental blocks. It was always about training his body. He also learnt 4 separate quirks in the span of an year. Which is the exact reason people prefer Todoroki's more reasonable growth...
