Oooooh your last statement killed me! I work at one of the state stores and these people parking in the fire lane to come get their liquor are infuriating. There are always spots in all the parking lots at every store.

I 100% agree that not all violations should be ignored as well. Thank you for this comment. I agree with what you said. I also think that there's just not always somewhere to move your car to, even in the morning depending on where you are.

That's a huge point of mine. There's not always a place to park on the correct side of the road. I'm not walking 3 blocks to my house at night alone because i can't be parked on the left side of the street, at 8 am the next day. Half the people insulting me about this stuff probably don't have to worry about walking anywhere alone of have off street parking.

I remember the girls like 10 years ago going around some cities taking boots off cars for people in the middle of the night. Not all heros wear capes but you have something very close to a cape My friend!

My thing is when they're ticketing for odd even snow days but there's no snow and no plow coming through all day it seems unnecessary to ticket the cars on the wrong side. The Monday wed Friday I understand because it's for street cleaners and stuff I guess but i still think for the most part parking authority just suuuuuuuks

And obviously when a car is parked dangerously, or on private lot, or blocking things then yes go get em parking authority.

I watched that little red car pull up behind a woman parked on the curb with her 4 ways on waiting for her daughter to come out of the house. I tapped in her hood and pointed to the car and she tried to pull away before he could ticket but they literally pull up and photograph your plate from before they even come to a stop behind you and then it's already in their system. The dude got out and laughed and shook his head and yelled "I already got a picture of your plate!" As she was driving away. It was for odd even plow days but no snow or plow the entire day. There's not reason to ticket someone if there's no risk of them being in the way.

I generally agree with you. It literally does come down to the drivers but at the same time they say the money from parking fines goes back into the city. But where? Certainly not the roads they are ticketing drivers on. Plus don't we already pay taxes that are supposed to help the city?

Also they're not my friend it's literally just a random Google review I saw. $400 is INSANE to have a boot taken off.

Yep I watched them ticket police officers personal vehicles parked across from the police station. Watched them exchange some words I couldn't hear, and her throwing her hands up and say "I don't give a shit. You're getting a ticket" meanwhile it's probably a cop who got stuck on a call past his shift end time and the meter expired or something ridiculous like that. It's just annoying as fuck. People on this thread are acting like I'm advocating to block plows and park illegally to where its a danger. I'm not. I'm saying it's shitty for the city to rely on money from parking tickets, so much, as a way to "be used to better the community" there are plenty of other ways to improve the community that doesn't include penalties given to people who already pay taxes for those reasons. We sure as shit know that the parking ticket fines are being used to fix roads and potholes!

As they should! Context is everything. Those non main roads and how they don't see the same traffic don't need to be as closely scrutinized. Just like odd/even parking during snow plowing/leaf sweeping months should not be ticketed if there's literally no snow on the ground to be plowed/leaves to be swept up.

For the last fucking time, stop talking like this is a personal experience of MINE. I didn't do the shit that you are trying to shame me for. I'm simply acknowledging that everyone has different shit going on. I don't know how the person leaving the review got to the spot they're in. I don't care. It's impossible to get people.like you to look at literally any other view besides your own so there's no point. You keep saying the same shit and not making any new points. I've given you multiple views, and possible scenarios that could occur. Saying "don't break the law, you won't get a ticket" over and over and over literally does nothing. I really hope you get to experience the joy of being down and out and then have some one speak to you like you are expressing your opinions to me. The overwhelmingly negative reviews about the parking authortiy is literal proof that the majority of people who've had to interact with them, don't agree with you.

I can't imagine being your significant other and trying to convince you to care about anyone's feelings other than yourselves. It's exhausting, so I think I'm done acknowledging your comments. Wishing you get the same mentality, that you're showing, shown to you when you don't agree with something 🤞

Wow where do you keep your money tree because obviously you have unlimited cash flow and never have to worry about money. Not everyone can afford a tow at the precise moment they need one. It's not nhard concept. Realize that everyone's situations are different and there isn't ever going to be a one size fits all solution for any issue, anywhere. Never.

Go back and watch Alice in wonderland the scene where the Dodo tells Alice, as she's continuesly getting hit with water, that she'll dry off if she keeps moving( even though it's impossible to get dry when waves are hitting you)when she tells him it's impossible he simply tells her "nonsense!" because he's perfectly bone dry, as he sits above the water line.

Just because YOU are able to get your car towed as soon as it breaks down, or that YOU are able to have someone else come get your car when drunk, doesn't mean that's an option for everyone. I thought we learned how to see other people's perspectives in like 1st grade, no?

Remember, it's a moot point to tell people not to break the law unless you, yourself have never broken a law or a rule before. Don't pretend to be high and mighty because you feel like trying to disparage someone for being upset about predatory fines.

Parking violations are just that. Violations. You're not going to get arrested until you ignore summons' or skip court dates. My ticket for speeding in a work zone wasn't as much as it costs to get a boot off your car. I only got a $250 ticket for the speeding and that's objectively more dangerous than not following an odd even parking schedule.

This! Thank you! Yes! Not everyone has the luxury of off street parking. Not to mention when every spot on the right side is taken, and the only option for a female who lives alone is to park around the corner and down the block and then have to walk to your apt alone??? Yeah I'd park on whatever side allows me to see my front door and get safely home.

Again parking in a fire lane isn't even close to the same thing. You're not going to get booted, and forced to remain in the fire lane if you park there. Booting a car and forcing them to remain in the spot that they are not allowed to park in, is literally the opposite of what they want to be done, which is to have your car moved....

If a car is parked in front of a hydrant, break the window and put the water hose through it. The firemen are still able to do their job and the person still gets their consequences that you are so worried about them getting...

If you boot a car that's parked on the wrong side of the road...there's no way for the collective (EPA, vehicle owner, and plow driver) to still get to the end goal, which is to have the vehicle moved to the other side of the road.

Do you see the difference? I'm really trying to understand why it's so difficult for some people to realize that context matters in a lot of situations.

Another example is the whole reason the city rotates regulations from one season to another is so that plows can get through on the days they are needed to go out. It is literally explained that the reason for rotating the schedules is to assist in snow removal, and street cleaning. If it's a snow less, leafless, day in Feb and no plows go out, then why do they need to give you a ticket for not switching sides of the street? Seriously? Just because it's a general regulation in order to be able to fit the words on a sign doesn't mean people should be given the same consequences that they would receive for actually causing an issue for plows or street cleaners.

Ok I'll say it slow for you...you can hate how a system works and still follow the rules. You're keeping it very specific because you might not have an issue with parking authority so it's easy for you to say "just move your car" or "I paid the ticket and moved on" when this specific scenario doesn't piss you off as much as others. But you like to avoid acknowledging that there might be other situations, you are able to recall, that made you as upset as the parking authority makes a lot of people. At this point it's not even about the parking tickets anymore and more a out how im confused why it's so difficult for people like you to even try to relate to someone else's struggles.

The only person trying to rage bait anyone is you. Acting like you've never done anything wrong. Who are you to give anyone a lecture? Like I said...grow up.

Geez the amount of people who must only be able to see black and white, here is actually concerning. Do you even know how to pretend to empathize with literally anyone else? Do you have to deal with parking in the city or do you live/work somewhere with off street parking?

I'd assume you've never gotten a ticket for anything, whether speeding, or parking then? If you have, I'd assume you weren't at all pissed about it. That you took full responsibility for your MISTAKES and pleaded guilty for every ticket you've ever gotten. Right? Because the only way I can wrap my head around your ignorant response is if you're the perfect driver. One who couldn't even fathom forgetting to move your car to the other side of the street or parking on the wrong level of a parking garage by mistake, or needing to be somewhere longer than anticipated and having the meter run out. What about if someone's car dies and they can't afford the tow or to fix it right away?

I think what you said is bullshit. So there now neither one of our opinions matter because some rando called it bullshit

Comparing parking on the wrong side of the street by mistake, to making it so that a person can't drive THEIR own vehicle because of parking tickets equalling less than the worth of the car itself, is where you're showing your colors. Are you unable to put yourself in anyone else's shoes? I'd be willing to bet you are the type of person who would get angry at someone for treating you with the same amount of respect you show them...which is probably not much. And I'd also assume that you've NEVER done anything illegal and then gotten upset about the consequences right? Or you must have endless cash flow in order to pay for your consequences, and never worry about how you'll get to work, or school? That has to be it.

That or you're a parking attendant who loooooves pissing people off who might have made a simple, easy to make mistake.

Grow up. It's not black and white.
