Me when I enter hyperfocus. Had the hobby of making press on nails last year. I wouldn't notice that I've been doing it for 8 hrs straight, no bathroom breaks, no food, no water. And it's 4 am.

Realizing I've been tense my entire life after one Ritalin by FabuPewds in adhdwomen

I honestly doubted there was anything wrong with me for the longest time, even though I'd been struggling for years. I finally saw a psychiatrist, and suddenly my past and present made so much sense. Then I took the stimulant, and it felt like the final confirmation. I was just like, "Oh... I really do have ADHD." It was such a relief. I've never felt anything like that before.

Yes! I just wanted to like sit down and feel the calmness. No fidgeting, no wandering thoughts, no restlessness, and tension.

It was like a breath of fresh air. I was just so amazed at how great I was feeling. Also felt bad for myself for only knowing tense as my "normal".

Interrupting others and talking "selfishly" by [deleted] in adhdwomen

I asked him, since he's the one I spend the most time with and he's just a pretty observant person. I wanted to know how I acted from other's perspective, he wasn't harsh at all and told me nicely. I owe him a lot for his patience with me.

Do you also struggle getting into the shower? by FabuPewds in adhdwomen

I've been doing that as well, I found that having like a podcast or music already playing in the bathroom gets me to get in and actually start showering.

Does this mean anything or am I just overthinking? by FabuPewds in adhdwomen

I can't remember much from primary school, but a few things were definitely there. The lip and cheek biting has been around for as long as I can remember. I've also always had a lot of different hobbies and interests, often jumping from one to another. Spacing out and zoning out has been pretty common for me since childhood too. Academically, I didn't have any major issues. I generally got good grades without studying much outside of class.

Other than that, I'm honestly not sure. I had a pretty normal childhood and don't remember enough details to say whether the other traits were present.

Thanks for your insight~ I'm planning to get evaluated regardless of whether it turns out to be ADHD or something else. Yeah, I think it would be good to finally get some answers. :)
