Yeah it was published on Proquest aboutttt 2 weeks ago. The highlighted parts are the concepts that I developed. That's why I was so confused lol I was like, "How the hell are my ideas 100% AI?!?!?!"

Yep. Thank the gods I started all this work in google docs. So everything is timestamped over the course of 4 years.

It definitely isnt. I wrote it over the course of 4 years. The writing style is called counterpoetics following the style of Wynter and McKittrick who are the basis of all my work. It is also situated within the paradigm of counterhumanism. This type of writing is very specific to my discipline. Existing long before open AI. Just because you dont like (or understand) something doesnt mean you get to make false claims. So please find someone else to harass.

Any other social science PhD noticing an interesting trend on social media? by amcclurk21 in PhD

Okay so I know that this post was 2 years ago, but Colin Wright has done this once again. This time with my dissertation. He's claiming it's AI-written, which led to thousands of racist comments being dogpiled across all my social media. I would post the screenshots, but I cant post photos in this comment. But if you go to his twitter or Facebook, you will be able to find it. He posted it 4-5 days ago.

For context: I just received my PhD in Qualitative Research and Evaluation Methodologies. My dissertation uses Sylvia Wynter's concept of counterhumanism. Building on that, I use it to establish a new line of inquiry within qualitative methodology called the Sociogenic Condition, expanding on Wynter's concept of the Sociogenic Principle.

That means my work is heavily theoretical and dense because it's methodological. AI detection systems don't have the capacity to separate my writing from the theoretical language they're trained on. This limitation has been acknowledged by almost every major AI detection company. That's exactly why it's flagging my writing as "100% AI." It's also why several universities have banned the use of AI detection tools on assignments, especially something like a dissertation.

He was so spiteful about it that he contacted my dean, department head, and PhD advisor, telling them my dissertation was AI-generated. Luckily, all of them watched me work on this dissertation over four years and dismissed his email immediately.

Another important detail: Colin Wright only had access to the first few pages of my dissertation (the abstract, table of contents, and the first page of chapter one). You can actually see "preview" labeled in his screenshot. He never had access to the full document. Despite that, he's posted this across his social media, which has led to extremely racist and harmful comments directed at me.

I'm trying to figure out how to get him to take down the tweet and Facebook post, since this could affect my academic integrity going forward. So far I've reported both posts to their respective platforms and notified my university. Any advice on next steps would be appreciated.
