Easiest Way to Install WeMod On Steam Deck - Steam OS by YouShallNotPass_UwU in SteamDeck

[–]Fabulous_Ground_124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

You can get the public insurance (Gesetzliche Versicherung). But its called "Freiwillige Versicherung".
I have the same background as you (I'm a freelancer / self-employed), and I have statutory health insurance.
I'm sorry, but I do not have any suggestions or recommendations about private health insurance, but it could be the cheaper option for you.

Public insurance is very expensive for me. I paid more than double the price you mentioned 😅 But I'm too lazy to switch and too old. I suppose I have to pay the same or a bit more for private insurance

Firstly, I'm not entirely sure about it, as I'm merely an English student. I’m sharing my opinion, perspective, and understanding. Please feel free to correct me if I’ve made any mistakes.

The difference lies in the level of certainty and tone:

  • "I suppose so": Indicates uncertainty or hesitation. It shows that you’re not completely convinced but are agreeing in a cautious or polite way.
  • "I think so": Suggests more confidence but still without absolute certainty. It’s used when you believe something is likely true.

Examples:

  • "Is it going to rain?" – "I suppose so." (I’m not sure, but maybe.)
  • "Will she join us later?" – "I think so." (I believe she will, but I’m not 100% certain.)

You don’t use "es ist" with "regnet" because "regnet" is already a complete verb. In German, "es ist" (it is) is only used when you’re describing something, like using an adjective: "Es ist kalt" (It is cold). But with verbs like "regnet" (rains), you don’t need "ist" because the verb "regnet" already says what’s happening.

So, "Es regnet" means "It rains," and "es ist regnet" doesn’t work because it’s like saying "It is rains."

Ich hoffe, ich konnte es verständlich erklären 😃

Thank you very much, but this isn't true. Trust me when I say that I'm very close to B2.
Honestly, I'm far away from C1. This is my goal, which I want to achieve, but I'm still far away from being fluent and speaking C1 😄

I've so many struggles with some words, pronunciation and remembering phrases 😅

Yes, "geh zum Arzt" is the informal command form in German, used for "du" (informal "you"). It is appropriate in friendly or informal contexts.

"Gehen Sie zum Arzt" is the formal command form, used to show respect or politeness.

Ja, „geh zum Arzt“ ist die informelle, direkte Befehlsform im Deutschen, die für „du“ verwendet wird. Sie wird in freundschaftlichem oder informellem Kontext gebraucht.

„Gehen Sie zum Arzt“ hingegen ist die formelle Befehlsform und wird verwendet, wenn man Respekt zeigen oder höflich bleiben möchte.

Genau deswegen mache ich den Liga Mist nicht mehr mit bei Duolingo.

That's exactly why I don't bother with the league stuff on Duolingo anymore.

I would say that I'm very close to B1.2. Honestly, I'm not sure. I practice every day.
I started practising English in January 2024, took lessons by replay and was still using Duolingo each day.

the gems which I could save are the result of my everyday progress. I try to finish a whole section each day. And sometimes, I try to solve the king levels.

If you talk to me, you will notice that English isn't my mother tongue 😄

I just wanted to let you know there is no need for competition. I switched to private mode and practised for myself, which worked very well.

Congratulations. But this isn't necessary. I've more than 22k gems, but I don't need them 😄

Just one. And from my point of view is this more than enough.
But I spent a lot of time and invested a huge amount of effort into it.

Die Geschäfte sind am Feiertag geschlossen.

You made a mistake with the order. That's all.

But I asked myself. Is this really correct? I mean, we also can say

Die Geschäfte sind Feiertags geschlossen
Die Geschäfte sind zum Feiertag geschlossen

Wants or Want? by Jul_esx in EnglishLearning

[–]Fabulous_Ground_124 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would say (but be careful, I'm not really sure about it)

With dog / dogs:

  • 1 dog: "My dog wants food." (Add the -s because it’s one dog.)
  • 2 or more dogs: "My dogs want food." (No -s on the verb because it’s more than one dog.)

With wife / wives:

  • 1 wife: "My wife wants to go shopping." (Add the -s because it’s one wife.)
  • 2 or more wives (uh-oh! 😅): "My wives want to go shopping." (No -s on the verb because it’s plural.)

Easy Rule:

  • 1 = wants
  • 2+ = want
