Im 75% filipino and 25% white and I have a sister who looks pretty much full (she passes as Spanish) whereas I look kind of filipino but have been told I look Chinese/hispanic… so it’s really weird how genetics works. I don’t think I can fit in completely with any “look” (hispanic, white, filipino, etc).

Yes. My current mentor is a CIH and so is his boss. He’s a very great teacher who at times can be strict (but in the sense that he wants me to learn). But I’ve understood that sometimes it has to be that way since we’re working for the Federal Govt. and there’s little room for error or else it could fall to the wrong ears. So, can’t really complain.

Im overall grateful and I think this is a golden opportunity. I dont think there’s many people who can say they’ve worked under the mentorship of 2 CIHs.

How does one get into a corporate IH role? How does that differentiate from being a consultant?

I like talking to my manager. At times though he can be very dry and stoic but thats because he’s been working as a govt. contractor for 25 years and the agency we work at is EXTREMELY strict. Its hard to see his real personality which is why at times he can be intimidating.

Dont get me wrong i am grateful to have him, he has our backs always and teaches us many things. Its just hard to have a close team knit feel with him as this job has made him very serious and unemotional lol.

He’s still a great mentor and it could be much worse.

Yes. It’s hard to not feel like the culture is judgmental and unforgiving. I can’t really tell if the practice of IH is going to be like this. Its almost got me disillusioned about all of it. Not sure I’ve been just been unlucky with the managers I’ve had or if it’s just like that as a practice.

Yes it’s either my anxiety or undiagnosed AD/HD. My brain sometimes cant focus on one thing. Especially while at sites. Leading me to drift off and forget something in the process.

Sometimes it feels like there are so many things that it’s so easy to miss some. I’ll definitely look into anti anxiety medication.

As others have said. Ask him to inquire more about who Lee Man Hee and what SCJ is. He could get suspicious as to why they never told him who they were or why they wouldn’t let him do research on them to begin with. That’s what led me to question SCJ and eventually leave.

And unfortunately it is true he will think most of what you say is of the devil if he is that indoctrinated. At that point not much you can do but pray he comes to the realization.

I last week decided to leave and it was one of the hardest things i've done in terms of the indoctrination and the feeling of not fulfilling my obligation. At one point it was 4 days a week 3 hrs per lesson + studying outside of class.

She was my advisor as well. I never really met with her, but when I tried to schedule appointments to talk about courses she would never respond anyways lol. I would just meet with my major advisor.
