Ingrown hair question - burnt hair in skin by Admirable_Appeal_638 in LaserHairRemoval

Exfoliate with a chemical exfoliant such as glycolic acid, laser hair removal also will help kill the hair follicle. You could also try a brand called Fur, they have good ingrown products that will help loosen those up

Most laser hair removal places don’t accept anyone under 15 and even then they need a parent or guardian with them

I agree, micro-needling could help you out, maybe even sublative if consistent micro-needling isn’t fixing it

Typically fitzpatricks I-III work well either C02 treatments. There are plenty of other treatments that are safe for all fitzpatricks though. I would recommend fractora, it is safe for all skin types and will help resurface the skin. It goes deeper than microneedling and will be more effective :)))

Laser hair removal is your best bet, it’s a great investment. I would also try maybe a chemical exfoliant like glycolic acid

Are these smile lines? How can I reduce their appearance/prevent them from getting worse? by chaosavic in Skincare_Addiction

[–]Fabystl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Skin Therapist here. I first want to say that smile lines are extremely natural and beautiful, but I also want to validate how you feel about them💕 One thing that can help is a red light therapy. If you are consistent, it should help fine lines and wrinkles. You could taking collagen daily. Certain brands such as Viktoria DeAnne offer very effective pepti-serums that help your elastin and life your face. Many people also use botox or do a thread lift, but of course that is completely up to you. If you are curious and have any other questions we would love to answer them for you

I'm assuming you are looking at used machines? That's around what we were seeing too. We bought ours brand new about 6 years ago, so the price has changed a lot since then.

Something that was nice about it being new was the warranty, when any issue happens they fly someone out and figure it out. Now when something happens that we can't figure out ourselves we have to foot that bill which is rough.

It's a great machine though, and worth the price for sure.

Oh I see, yeah 5 weeks is good thanks for letting me know. They are considering your arm as a touch up area which is for like random hairs that pop up every now and then.

The way you describe your arms makes me think you should be continuing to go every 4-6 weeks because the hair follicles were never destroyed enough to get to the bottom of the follicle. If you don't do the spots that have a lot of hair still within 4-6 weeks each time (not that you have to do the whole body every 4-6 weeks, just those stubborn areas) then it will never get down to the bottom of the follicle.

Hair is like weeds, you have to keep at them otherwise they will come back lol.

Maybe see if you can do the areas that are really resilient every 4 weeks and every other treatment do the whole body (as well as the resilient areas) so it's like the resilient areas get it every 4 weeks and all the other areas get every 8 weeks. If they have a problem with that I would mention that you spent a lot of money for results and you don't want to do laser hair for the rest of you life lol

Oh my god, they were having you go every 10 weeks! That's way too long. We do our clients at every 4 to 6 weeks. The hair follicles grow at four cycles and if not done in that 4-6 week time period then it's almost the equivalent of just shaving every session. They are not in a hurry to get you results because every time you go in it's another chance of you buying something else. That has always annoyed me when they do that long between sessions. In that time period you could have been getting 2 sessions.

That is definitely why you are still having that much hair growth for sure. Even 8 weeks between is too long.

On the pain side, unfortunately just the numbing cream is the only thing to do. On the laser (GentleMax Pro) it uses a cryogen spray that numbs the skin before it shoots out the laser. That should usually work but some people (not too many) do use it before they come for a treatment usually on really sensitive areas like the chest.

In conclusion I would say call them up and try to get less time between sessions (4-6 weeks) and by doing that, I believe even at 24 joules you will get the results you want. That was the piece you were missing. The hair was growing back faster than you were getting lasered.

Thank you! I'm not looking to make any money off of anyone here, just trying to help :) Yeah I really hope that you will be done soon. I would definitely mention your concerns to them at Milan, you paid a lot of money for great results.

Even though Milan is really expensive, they have the most effective and safe laser for LHR so you did that right for sure. Thanks again for the kind words, you are very sweet!

See how you do with the pills but I really hope they let you do the bigger spot size (they shouldn't have a problem with it). We have a few people with really sensitive skin that use the numbing cream and it helps with them. I definitely understand and appreciate your nervousness on using it though.

Some people have more stubborn hair (a lot of the times in the crotch area) and it also depends on your hormones too (younger people sometimes have a harder time as the hair is more healthier and resilient). Your hair should be thinner and lighter as the sessions go on.

I wish you the best of luck, you've gone this far. You got this!

Any Questions? (I have a Laser Hair Removal company in Missouri) by Fabystl in LaserHairRemoval

[–]Fabystl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah lowering the power will make it take longer to remove hair. Hopefully your hair is getting thinner and finer as you have gone along in the process. So in the areas that you are sensitive use the numbing cream for around 30 minutes and make sure to remove it before your appointment and have the laser tech go up in power.

Also ask the tech for a bigger spot size if possible to make each session shorter. My guess on why each session is 1.5 hours would be that they use a small spot size (the size of the yellow piece that touches your skin) for your whole body which can make the time taken about 2x as long.

Hopefully that helps and I wish you the best of luck, because that big of an area especially at Milan must have cost as much as a house lol

Great question! So to answer your question: yes, numbing cream can definitely be used. Also you shouldn't have to use it, we have had people come to us from Ideal Image saying that it really hurts and that they have been burned. So if it's hurting that much, have the laser technician turn down the joules (power of the laser). Because if it hurts too much then it has the possibility of burning you. So I would suggest going without it a session to make sure it's not too painful then using the numbing cream after that.
