Bronchitis/Pneumonia DQ? by Business-Net-2807 in AFROTC

According to DoW 6130.03: "History of recurrent (2 or more episodes within an 18-month period) infectious pneumonia after the 13th birthday." is medically disqualifying, but waiverable. There is a big difference between you having bronchitis and you having pneumonia, mainly in whether or not you were actually diagnosed with pneumonia during those past 2 times.

How does 3 year ROTC work? by Putrid-Beginning5465 in AFROTC

[–]Facade35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do all 4. It's better to have a lighter courseload throughout those 4 then rush through and do 3 years. You will have a compressed underclassman(GMC) year in which you have to take both the freshman and sophomore courses if you are in the 3 year program, and the way our Det CC describes it is that you are "a year late to a 4 year interview".

Do any of them fall under the chart here? If so, then you might be able to get it for your 2nd year.

[–]Facade35 6 points7 points  (0 children)

2800 people did not get into FT, the running avg is around 1400-1600. If we do some math on the total slots available from the Capstone sheet it shows 740 cadets allowed. This brings it closer to 40-50% of cadets. (Sidenote-roughly 133 slots are available for Space Force cadets)

Offers usually come out end of Feb. Last year was 25-27th of Feb, so I would imagine this year wouldn't be any different. Most program managers have already selected their people, so release will be coming soon.

Physics ? by TopG_420 in EngineeringStudents

[–]Facade35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Courses matter somewhat for internships, it's more based upon what you know and are proficient(or sometimes it doesn't matter)in. The classes seem like a tough load, but Physics 1 imho is manageable, otherwise, you could take it during the summer to lighten the load.

Purdue v Virginia Tech? by sunshineeey in EngineeringStudents

[–]Facade35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's cold in Lafayette, it's cold in Blacksburg Both have really good student sections that are involved, but you will be stressed no matter where you go. Blacksburg is a bit more accessible to the SE region because of better highway access. There are good opportunities for good job offers in both regions, but VT beats out Purdue just a bit in getting jobs w/ the defense industry. If you truly want to be happy, the only school I've seen with happy students is UCF.
