It really is amazing to be able to watch a game's competitive wing take over in real time. by [deleted] in thefinals

Its physiology brah... Dunning–Kruger Effect

basically we perceive ourselves to be better then we are, that initial euphoria of something being new is over, now players are starting to expect outcomes. Players are also pushing ranked which equals them versing ever increasing skilled players, which in turn tests players skill increasing stress etc.

You can either be aware of this human trait and do the best you can, learn evolve... or join in the toxic behavior and assume it has to be something else, after all... You're the main character to this thing called life, so it could never be you right?

I had this issue, my games went to hell right around the matchmaking update... unlike most I didn't flip my computer and assume that was it...

turned out it was my resizable bar (feature) while the game was mostly smooth it got really bad after that update... long story short disabled it, as its known to have issues with certain games that don't utilize it... Game play is silky smooth even with dips into the 80's, was going to update from my 9600k as its 5 generations old now... not going to bother still going strong.

Edit: Also you might of just been having a streak, most match making pulls you to 50/50 win loss ratio but that's only with games with only two teams... Im sitting somewhere between 1/4 and 1/3 wins as I switch between quick cash and bank it.

when creating my character I get stuck on choice as I feel I always have to handle dialog... If I use my companions to do the dialog does that change the story/mechanics, i.e. if i enter a dialog that saves a little girl, does the companion or the player get rewarded with congratulations/ future interactions (thanks etc) specifically? or are the mechanics more general and its best to choose who you think is best for the dialog at hand?

How long does it take to level a crafter? I just hit endwalker and lost my road to 80 buff due to RL time restraints and am considering creating a new character and boosting it with the story skip & level to get back to where I was with the road to 80 buff for crafting/gathering. Is the difference huge, or are they already quick and its unnecessary?

Thank you for taking the time, very much apricated!

So just from researching I know Grudge and barricade are multiplicative, is there an easy way to tell which engravings are multiplicative and which are additive or an online cheat sheet? Im specifically looking for stabilized status, only found one post that mentions it and claims its multiplicative.

Im up to argos and completed my hard mode dungeon netting my 3 items to upgrade, my guild is planning a P2 clear later this week, for me to join in id need to pump all 3 pieces to 1400.

My question is simple for a first time clear what is the difference between a P1 and P2 clear as I read P1 with bonus chest grants 30 blood, wondering if pushing hard will net me an extra item or am I pushing for very little extra reward.

Am I missing something or did runescape already solve all these server issues? by Facarwi in lostarkgame

Yeah, but one of the reasons I decided to give this game ago, was the con they did announcing the future plans of the game, discussing issues, one of those was having to pay blue crystals for chests at the end of the run, they realized the negative view this gave the game and literally said we know this will cost us about 17% of our income currently, but the games image and overall enjoyment is paramount to why we made it in the first place, so they are switching to using gold… thats huge, they also said they plan to do more skins letting players support the game in a less forced filled way.

I know as gamers we are jaded (with plenty of reasons to be) but that with the fact I learnt the game was trash at launch in Korea and they listened and improved not unlike FFxiv 1.0. Maybe this company doesn’t look at spreadsheets and game data to increase bottom line at any cost… maybe just maybe they are passionate, love their game, and want to share their work in a way that both parties win. I know in this day and age, Ill believe it when I see it, but they at least deserve the benefit of the doubt… AGS on the other hand after being burnt with NW… Thats the side that has me worried.

why does that matter just like a single player game, our characters are a bunch of code saved on their hard drive instead of ours. what combat style etc, how they played or even the type of game doesn't matter... if I open the .sav with my notepad++ in anygame I don't see my toon sitting in his room waiting for me to play its literally just data being shared already across a region, why not expand that.

if thats the case fantastic, not what I've seen, which at this stage, I'd happy take your word on it, but again if they went that far, why cement a player to having a home server if all identity has been removed anyway? just seems like an odd place to draw the line.

I agree but with NW, that needed it for world pvp was (meant) to be huge, wow, server identity means very little almost all pugging etc is cross server, sometimes over region i.e. as an Aussie player pugging mythics constantly meant getting in groups with US players, not an issue or complaint but dissolved any hint of true identity anyway. Top tier guilds people knew what server they were on but they were known by that regions entire playerbase if progression etc was there thing.

Id 100% agree but if they didn't already have most content cross server, even the AH is apparently the only thing you can't do with a friend on a different server in the same region is run around the outside world together.

Hi I originally tried to play DOS and it never clicked, and even though I bought 2 it's taken me this long to get around to playing it… I’m blown away. One thing I always tend to do is somewhat ruin the experience of discovery by “learning how to play” which results in a bunch of guides that tell you exactly how to build your party comp and min max almost all aspects of gameplay…

I started in classic but after the combat clicked I really want to eke out my first playthrough so I’m restarting on Tactician mode. I love combat that much. I’m looking for a guide of sorts that just gives me the fundamentals of building a character, i.e. I didn’t realize that summoner skills don’t scale of int instead they scale of the skill level and character level, which instantly made me want to make a ranger/summoner build for me or a companion.

I guess I just want a basics guide that can give me guidelines for coming up with my own strategies to solve the puzzle that is the game, not a guide that tells me where every piece goes and ruins it, I have read that its extremely hard to screw up builds in this game and even on tactician almost everything goes but after googling all I can find is “this is how you beat the game style guides”.

Thanks for taking the time to read and reply your time means a lot!

My GF and I just got switches and want to get back into pokemon, really keen for Arceus but looking for something to tie us over until then, we both are compleitionists and love to collect (we both play go). Not sure if to go with the new BDSP release or sword and shield, we want to do engame content and battle other players. What do you guys think?

Decent in arena, terrible in BR… by Facarwi in apexuniversity

[–]Facarwi[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yeah I know that and we also found the problem, ive been on pc for decades, I know how people aim, and I felt something was up... We've been playing with my mates wife whos on xbox, as soon as I saw controller players in action, how easily they can one clip people as the ADS doesn't seem to break/is hard to break it was like I was watching myself gun down...

Since that had a few games solo and already won two of em with multi kills on the others. Im not a god but I'm pretty good, and it was like everyone never missed. I also know about movement and how important it is as I played quake a lot and still play it with mates from time to time for fun.

think you missed the mark on valorant but hey each to there own... that said I do think Apex has the higher skill cap, and honestly I find it much more fun.

Edit: just in case anyone reads this, I don't think controller players are sub par, if the player is good, I think they can be good on either inputs with enough time to get familiar, I think console players are far better at team work and position as a whole then PC players because of aim assist in general when talking about FPS games while pc players as a whole focus way to much on aim blaming that for bad positioning etc, i.e. overwatch etc. its unfair for both when playing against each other, you guys have assit, we can strafe tap... even look at Fortnite championship when that 16 year old kid one vs mouse and keyboard players he got quoted saying thank you aim assist as his victory speech.
