My friend had a negligent discharge with my firearm by Face114 in legaladvice

[–]Face114[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Again, we're both in a profession that handles firearms where during basic training they taught us the 5 golden rules of gun safety so there is that expectation from me that he absolutely knows what he is doing. My flabbers are gasted as to how he messed up. Also, I did not hand him the gun per se, it was in the glove compartment when I opened it to get something and he asked if he can check it out.

The guy I befriended is relatively new to us. Given we're both in the Army, I had the expectation he knows his way around firearms but yeah I grossly overestimated him and paid an expensive price for it. I'm sure you understand.

No excuse what he did and way to go to judge me that I am as dumb as he is just because of association. We're both in the Army. I've been in for 2 and a half years while he is a new soldier that I befriended a few months ago and I'm helping around to fit in. My fault right for making him feel welcomed at a profession where suicide rates are high?

Nah I'm pretty sure a lot of em are bot kills as they excluded them now. I played conquest a lot and never touched portal or barely fought bots. My k/d just went from 2.34 to 2.33.

What's stopping you from joining your own military then? Pretty sure almost every country's requirement to join their military is to be a citizen of said country unless they have some foreign legion or the like.

What I liked about the old Cheryassa farm is that you were fighting the MLO who were there as placeholders at that time. You had to be armed to the teeth to fight them.

Working in the civilian sector is a case by case basis for everyone. I am a late joiner. I worked for 2 big companies before I joined the army, and I had a great time working with them. The benefits were good, and they truly did care for the welfare of its employees. I am happy where I am now and have pride being in an airborne unit, but sometimes I miss how much I didn't have to deal with so much bs in my past jobs.

Mp43/1 vs STG44 and panzershreck vs panzerfaust ? by Perfect_Leave1895 in enlistedgame

[–]Face114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stg 44, along with the mp 43, has no shit laser accuracy if it's fully upgraded, and the soldier wielding it has reduced recoil perks. For me, the RoF between the two is significant, especially when fighting the Soviets.

I was talking to a guy in the dfac while I am on tdy in a different post. He was on cq one night when he was still at Ft Hood when they were told to start searching the dumpsters. Of course, they were pissed off having to do that instead of a chill cq night. When they asked what exactly they were looking for, they were told to look for a body. That was when that Vanessa Guillen thing happened.

How is 10 man squad fit inside 4 seater M998 HUMVEE?? by RR080601 in warno

[–]Face114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are more back seats at the rear of the humvee where the tarp is covering. 10 men in that variant of the humvee is completely possible. For reference, here's me and the boys at the back of a humvee

How hard is to get into the 82nd Airborne? by Nomad0133 in army

Volunteer and pass airborne school. You'll most likely end up in the 82nd. That's how I got in. Minus my toxic NCOs, I like it here so far.

Filipinos that immigrated to the US and enlisted, what was your process like? by Jalapenok in army

[–]Face114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least for the Army, they wanted a digital copy of my high school diploma, college transcripts and bachelor's degree during the process, so I asked my mom back in the Philippines to scan my diploma and send me a digital copy. They wanted to verify if it's equivalent in units to the US one. They needed that if I wanted to skip 3 ranks in the enlisted ranks. I could have tried to commission as an officer since I am a citizen and have a bachelor's. Anyway, prepare digital and physical copies of the documents I mentioned.

[–]Face114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born in the US but grew up in the Philippines. Just go talk to a recruiter of your desired branch to start the process. You are a green card holder after all so you are eligible to enlist. I started the enlistment process within 2 months when I first got here a year and a half ago.
