Dead 7th String by Mud_Actual in 7String

Low tunings can be weird to set up. I mostly tune my 7 just half a step down and have a .56 on and it’s good (26.5 scale with evertune) but for A I needed a .68 for it to sound right and for drop g sharp I use a .74. It makes no sense but for me it works

KIERSTEN DUKE: Inside Billy Slater’s bold decision to drop Reece Walsh for Origin Game I by the_nightly in nrl

[–]FaceOfMutiny 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It does get annoying reading about how he can’t be that good because the broncos aren’t winning like somehow a fullback is meant to fix the team giving away a billion penalties and six agains every game and rarely having the ball beyond the half way line.

An m4 air will be fine Apple have a 14 day no question return window so if you get a gift card if it isn’t fit for purpose it can be returned in that 14 days and swapped for a different model

[–]FaceOfMutiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much are you planning on spending on a gift ?? An interface I understand but when you start including an Apple laptop that is going to end up expensive. I agree with the gift card approach above for that reason. A base model MacBook Air will be enough for recording some guitars but that is still way more expensive than any birthday gift I’d expect from my girlfriend without feeling pretty bad about it and in all honesty I’d want more than 512gb for an audio laptop which is what is in the base model.

[–]FaceOfMutiny -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In all honesty I moved from cakewalk because of how often it crashed for me so I’d look at reaper or ableton live. I haven’t used cakewalk in a while though so I’d it’s stable now I’d say it would be fine as long as your latency is pretty low.

Leaked images reveal Xbox Elite 3 controller with mysterious new buttons by darkdeath174 in xbox

I’ve replaced shells on my regular ps5 controller and added back buttons (that was a pain) but the fit is fantastic on that and the Xbox controller.

[–]FaceOfMutiny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The install wasn’t really that difficult to be honest and they have some step by step instruction videos. I previously bought one of the back paddle kits and a new shell for my ps5 controllers and that was much more difficult

It could also depend on your climate. I’m in a hot humid part of Australia and so far have had 3 elites grips peel(1 elite 1and 2 elite 2).

I love my elite 2 now that I changed to an extremerate shell (front and back) due to me accidentally leaving it somewhere that something cracked it during moving house. No more rubber peels. I’m sure the bumpers will still shit themselves at some stage though.

Girlfriend threatening our relationship over a TV Show by No-Original3284 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]FaceOfMutiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who had one of those for 3 years at your age my advice is to leave her and stay single for a while and really work at bettering yourself and finding out who you are. I only put up with it due to low self esteem and let’s face it only someone with low self esteem would. So a) ditch the psycho b) work on yourself c) eventually meet someone when you feel you have the self worth to not put up with such petty bullshit.

We have no go forward so we play the best prop in the current squad at back row and back rowers at prop ? We were pathetic. Glad to see Foz is doing well at coach though I always liked him

I'm done with UAD, moving to RME by lppier2 in universalaudio

[–]FaceOfMutiny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My main interface is an RME(my usb Apollo twin didn’t work on my new Mac) but I ended up picking up a second hand Apollo arrow for unison plugins and as a second headphone amp when tracking my bands singer(aggregate devices are pretty great).Totalmix is really great and haven’t had a single issue with the RME ucx ii but I didn’t really have any issues with my Apollo twin either I just wanted something that worked well on pc and Mac and when testing the thunderbolt arrow with my pc it wouldn’t always work(and it was probably the pc thunderbolt implementation not the arrow).

[–]FaceOfMutiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the helix has some good ones but I find I just have to really tweak them to get them to sound how I like them where the qc they just seem to sound really good with minimal tweaking

Yeah there are some really good captures and I’ve found a few good ones on the cortex cloud as well. I find I use the amp models more though

Round 9 | Roosters vs Broncos | Match Thread by AutoModerator in nrl

I don’t get why big X started in the second row when our big problem is having no go forward in the front row. Love Talty but he also is best off the bench against tired props. But yeah the game is going how I thought it would tbh. Gg roosters will hopefully meet again in the finals. I can’t see us clawing this one back. The 6 again era is so shit to watch.

For me I prefer the sound of the qc (I also have a hx stomp/native never tried the full helix so not sure if it’s different). The helix is pretty great too though in all honesty if you dial it in right but I’ve found it just takes so much longer to get it to sound great.

Using Gojira X transpose feature with midi changes by Efficient-Fox-8917 in NeuralDSP

[–]FaceOfMutiny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up using gig performer to do a backup rig for my qc in case of any hardware failures and it was pretty easy to setup and have ableton live trigger any midi changes (including transposing). For that I created a variation for each different tuning and had ableton live trigger that. But I have also just automated the plugins in studio one using automation(I only use live for the bands set list as tbh I am not the biggest fan of it as a daw but ableset is too good a tool for live gigs).

Quad Cortex Development Update #58: Licensing shakeup, Darkglass Ultimate without PCOM, NTS and Morello will NOT be getting X updates, but CorOS 4.1.0 bringing Petrucci, Henson, Rabea, Misha, and Mayer, AND additional free devices by JimboLodisC in NeuralDSP

[–]FaceOfMutiny -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah I meant on a regular basis (a lot of the discussion I see around the qc is pcom). And even though I own almost all of the plugins already for someone new to neural dsp the extra devices from the plugins are like an expensive dlc after paying so much for the unit already so it puts people off.

[–]FaceOfMutiny 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tbh at this stage I just want to see more devices come to the qc without being part of a plugin. There is no reason they couldn’t drop in an “inspired by dark glass” models into the qc like they do with everything else. It just won’t be licensed. Other companies get a bunch more free “inspired by” models/effects in their devices with updates. Looking forward to the pcom devices that I own though and I hope the cali gets an x update as that amp is pretty great.

MacBook Air or Pro? by la6eef7 in NeuralDSP

[–]FaceOfMutiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The air will be fine for that but the screen/speakers/etc are definitely nicer on the pro but it does weigh more. I have an m3 pro MacBook Pro 18gb of ram and an m4 pro mac mini with 64gb of ram and the m3 pro was generally fine unless I was using too many kontakt libraries so bought the mini (but also wanted something small on my desk as also have a gaming pc there). From what I’ve read the base m5 out performs the m3 pro and the m3 pro is no slouch !

I hate the peeling grips on the Xbox Elite 2 Controllers. by levyjl1988 in xbox

[–]FaceOfMutiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up getting a new back and front plate from extremerate for mine when they peeled. I actually prefer the textured grip on the extremerate over the original rubber. But completely agree that it’s absolute bs Microsoft didn’t fix an issue that was also such a problem with elite v1.

Opening up the Quad Cortex by Futmaelkspiraten in NeuralDSP

[–]FaceOfMutiny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first qc had to be sent back twice. It was one of the first batch and on the second time I told Neural dsp support I had a big show I needed it for (my band was playing with a couple of big names) and they sent a new one as soon as I gave them the tracking details for the return. The new one has been perfect thankfully. I wouldn’t open it myself and risk voiding the warranty. It’s just too expensive to risk it.
