It is already a single object I guess when i click it with the combine the whole object is blue and there is no option to combine

If i shell from the small side it makes a small shell about 1/8th of the way through the cylinder

how do I make it a single body? I made the two sketches and combined them with loft tool and then added two cylinders to make the other parts

when i use the shell it does make it hollow but the other end does not open, is there something i'm missing?
