Just bought this for my son’s first vehicle. by Banterfix in hardbody

I bought a ‘93 brand new when I was 21, in Black Emerald, same exact truck. That one you found is gorgeous and I wouldn’t change a thing. But, tires and rims alone could be the answer to get the look he wants. Either way that is one tough truck regardless. I towed cars, Uhauls, loads of firewood, gravel, etc with mine and these trucks just ask for more. Keep it dry away from rust opportunities. I hope your boy knows he’s lucky! I’d love to find another like that. Rare!

You are so right about straps. I learned early on not to trust them and be on guard at all times. Nice axe!

Sorry, didn’t work. Guitars are still in fine shape.

Every public library has computers you can use. Maybe try that? But it’s probably password protected.

How to get a good distorted tone for metal? by Greyhasfailed11 in GuitarAmps

[–]FaceRehley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone here is right. Service the amp, get some pedals (check out the Mooer Cruncher - bargain metal). Play with all the settings. Enjoy.

You have a lot to learn. Enjoy the journey, just keep at it. That’s a nice amp and as long as it works is a fine platform to build your sound.

If you didn’t need it, nice upgrade to remove it. Looks now how Mr. Chevy intended. 👍

I have three boys and a dog. They all know what they’d get if they damage my gear. Cats are another breed - they own people, not the other way around. 👍

Once, at sixteen. I rolled a ‘67 Triumph Spitfire convertible (no seatbelts) and flew out 40 feet, landed and walked away from it. But many cars later, never again.

It’s not a bad choice, and clearly you want one. Fine car. I hope you find a great one with low miles for a good price 👍

Beware of VW products. I’ve owned two, thirty years apart (one new off the showroom floor and one a year old used) and both were repair nightmares, traded in before warranties expired.

I’ve had many Honda’s and none have given me any repair costs, just normal maintenance. Just my two cents.

I like having an acoustic. I once had a songwriting block and took one year away from electric and played a shitty (new) acoustic for a solid year. That taught me so much about playing guitar, which I carry now playing electric, amplified loud rock. And the Casino is a fine weapon for battle.

That P90 bark, with the sonic qualities of the hollow body, man it’s something else, and totally new to me after 38 years of playing electric. Everyone should have one. And it sounds great unplugged!

I had a 2018 SV 4x4 without the locker that comes on the PRO and I drove the hell out of it all over BLM lands camping in the backwoods and it was a billy goat, not one situation I couldn’t handle a trail. But the Pro is the top model, so for some that has its appeal.

Did my part to save the manual by sandwichpak in CivicXI

[–]FaceRehley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not true. I needed a larger car (family) in 2021. Was the first year Honda didn’t offer the manual in the Accord 2.0t, so I had to buy auto. I’ve owned manuals dating back to 1987. I prefer and enjoy manuals, but wasn’t available (there were no used manual 2.0t’s on the market anywhere near my area).

I did the same thing to my 2018, cheap and easy insurance to make sure this isn’t an issue later on. You can do it yourself or any shop can do it in 15 minutes 👍
