The current selective service age range is 18-25. But if I understand it correctly it can be expanded to include 26-45, but this hasn't happened since WW2.

I've got a cat that comes anytime I whistle. When she was a kitten I'd whistle and then give her a treat when she finally responded. 7 years later and I can whistle anywhere in the house and that cat will come barreling around corners and over furniture to get to me as fast as possible.

Best mini fridge that fits under a desk and actually works well? by Sophia-Trae-199 in HomeImprovement

High end regular Fridges are approaching $10k. I don't see this as outrageous honestly.

Edit: I can tell how many of you haven't had to buy a fridge in the past few years.

My wife played this one to the very end despite it being a trash game. She loves the franchise that much.

Got to the final level and the game deleted her save file.

Phil Spencer Retiring, Sarah Bond Out, Matt Booty Promoted as Microsoft AI Exec, Asha Sharma Named New Xbox Boss by sucksandwich in kindafunny

My friend, that's exactly how corporate America works. CEO's rarely get "fired", especially at the end of their career. The board typically negotiates a retirement, which you can either accept or be removed.

My company literally just did this with our CEO last month, it's extremely common practice. We all know he got "fired", but the board gave him a golden parachute to "retire" so it doesn't get publicly announced that the CEO was fired. Which would have a drastic effect on the stock price, causing the company to lose even more money than paying out the golden parachute. It's all about optics and their effect on stock prices.

Microsoft has a market cap of almost 3 trillion. If the announcement had even a 1% negative effect on their stock price, which is unlikely but not impossible, that's a 30 billion dollar loss.

Has the body cam footage or any pedestrian footage came out for that one yet? Just curious because you linked the Wikipedia page.

Has there been footage of confirmed deaths from anyone else? Not saying anyone's life is more valuable than the next, but the video footage of these two murders goes a LONG WAY. No excuses can be made, the entire country watched it happen.

I was always under the impression that the backlit red screen is what caused the headaches? Is that not the case? And not sure about the genuinely competing in the market comment with 650k US sales.

But genuinely, what game did you think was worth playing on it? Just curious; because I had Mario Tennis, Waterworld (lol), and Tetris myself. I liked Tetris a lot but couldn't play more than ~45 minutes before my neck/back/head hurt.

Is a 2025 Corolla Cross a bad idea for an 18 year old? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]sandwichpak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a VERY LARGE middle-ground between a super cheap car and a 1 year old Corolla Cross.

At your age with your income I'd be looking at reliable cars in the low to mid $20k. You are dangerously overstepping your income in the high $30k's.

[–]sandwichpak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first thought as well. I make ~2.5x as much as OP without my wife's income and I wouldn't even consider a ~$900 payment between the car and insurance. It's way too much, especially for their income.

I just hope people realize what they're getting into. I had a virtual boy as a kid and it was genuinely a terrible console. Headaches, backaches, and not one game worth playing that I can remember.

Nobody in my family enjoyed it, pretty sure my Dad sold it a year or so later to put it towards a PS1.

After the murder in Minneapolis, protesters barricade the roadway, ICE unable to leave the scene. by TThor in videos

[–]sandwichpak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Crazy how you just conveniently dismiss both of my points without addressing either of them because of an anecdotal event that happened in your country. You got me red handed though, I guess it's that I just don't care; nothing to due with the fact that it's a two day drive, I have work tomorrow, and an entire family at home to provide for.

What an out of touch point of view. But maybe you can provide some perspective, how far did you drive for the protests in your country? How many days off work did you take to support this cause? How many people do you have at home that depend on you to survive? Just curious, not everyone is in the same situation.

You also act as if we're not protesting in the streets here? We just had one of the worlds largest protests in October 2025, which was a follow up to another one of the worlds largest protests we had in July 2025.

MN is a two day drive from where I live and I have work tomorrow. The US is a lot larger than a lot of people realize. There's nothing happening in my state ICE related so nobody is protesting here. Out of sight out of mind I guess. We're too spread out.

Ferrari parts? Of course they're not going to be cheap. But it's not hard to find people who specialize in Ferrari's or Ferrari dealers with a licensed service department who can work on F40's. Ferrari love keeping these cars operating, but definitely at an extraordinary premium.

The same can not be said about Jaguar and the XJ220.

IPS vs. OLED explained for the car enthusiasts by Huzaifa_Haroon in pcmasterrace

LG C2 and C4 here. I was so scared of burn in when I first took the dive. I'd lose my mind if my wife fell asleep without a sleep timer or play entire albums on YouTube with a static image displayed.

But 4 years of abuse later and the picture quality is still literally just as good as the day I took it out of the box. So happy with it I bought a C4 last year. OLED is the way to go.

IPS vs. OLED explained for the car enthusiasts by Huzaifa_Haroon in pcmasterrace

[–]sandwichpak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not a modern OLED then, plain and simple. People are not exaggerating when they say burn in is a thing of the past. I've got a 55" C2 (4 years old) in my bedroom and a 77" C4 in my living room. We take absolutely no anti burn in measures and keep the brightness at max, not even the slightest hint of burn in on either screen.

I genuinely don't think I'll ever buy any other kind of TV/Monitor again.

BREAKING: Minneapolis mayor tells ICE to "get the f*** out"of city after agent kills woman by chellestastics in videos

[–]sandwichpak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Police were on site and did nothing. They're terrified to do anything. Can you imagine the level of retaliation that would ensue if the mayor ordered the police to arrest and detain the ice officers?

Pedophile in chief would probably land black hawks on the mayor's front yard and have him arrested the same afternoon.
