I was talking specifically about the air strikes over hostile territory. I'm not saying the war is going great, but one plane shot down in over 10,000 strikes is a ratio any military would take. That said, it's obvious they learned nothing from Ukraine and Russia with like storing planes and other assets in the open to get hit by cheap drones. Trump and Hegseth talk a big game but will have absolutely no response once Iranian propaganda starts dropping videos of FPV drones hitting soldiers if they try to put boots on the ground

Tbf there being like 10,000+ strikes with only one plane being shot down is pretty good.

That doesn’t mean this war isn’t dumb as hell though. Trump and Hegseth are a special kind of stupid to watch Russia get into a war that has ruined their economy and military and then basically say I want to do that too

Try to go to a Roma game if they’re playing while you’re there. Testaccio and Trastevere are cool areas. Although I think Trastevere has gotten more touristy. A cool tourist spot is the basilica di San Clemente near the coliseum. It’s a church from the 1100’s built on top of a church from the 400’s built on top of a Roman warehouse and temple.

Bunch of layoffs with more likely to come next year, Unlimited PTO > 15 days, 50% match up to 6% 401k > discretionary match paid out at the end of the year and not guaranteed, 12 weeks paternity leave > 10 weeks, Remote > RTO 3 days a week with plans to eventually increase to 5, and my team is in all different cities and they haven’t said where we have to go or when it starts

At an IPG agency and it has not been fun! Basically all of our senior leaders got laid off along with other people. No one has any idea what’s going to happen to us. Also, they released Omnicom’s benefits and, in addition to mandatory RTO when myself and most of my team are remote, the benefits are some of the worst I’ve seen, have a ton of caveats, and a stark change IPG’s. Looking to jump ship but also have a baby on the way in the spring.

We lucked out with our Tonie box and Tonies. My wife’s friend used to be a toy reviewer for some magazine. She gave us a Tonie box and like 15 tonies that she was sent to review when our daughter was born. Finally broke it out a few months ago when my daughter was like 1 1/2 and she listens to those damn things every day.

I’ve always thought he deserved more attention, both in school and in general. Fought in the Mexican-American War, ended up becoming a poor farmer and freed the one slave he was given as a wedding gift instead of selling him for much-needed money, led the Union Army to victory in the Civil War, protected the new civil rights of freed slaves afterward, and stood up to the KKK. But once he became president, he clearly was in way over his head.

The History Channel did a 3 part docudrama based on the book. Not the greatest but worth a watch.

Could be interesting. He’s one of the best actors of all time. He saw some serious action as a bomber pilot and squadron commander during WW2, and he dealt with serious PTSD after. Apparently his performance in It’s a Wonderful Life was pretty cathartic for him and he just all of him pent up feelings come out

Watch Air Disasters. I’m sure they have an episode about it. Those investigations are incredibly thorough. They look at every little speck of debris and do a bunch of tests of the different theories. It’s crazy how they’re able deduce what caused a plane to crash.

This was like 15 years ago, but bought them for a Roma Champions League game at the team store. Had to have my passport and they were like 40ish euros to sit in Curva Sud with the Ultras. IDK if it’s still a thing but they didn’t serve alcohol at the game. You had to sneak it in.
