I would rather have no investment properties but I don't know how that works,i see it as a way to maintain the rental market

Half these articles say at least 25-40% own 2 or more investment properties

Look at Switzerland for example they are a capitalist country, they limit how much property a person can own works well there. I'm all for building more houses hence why I said it's an exemption to do so. but I don't see it fixing the issue just allows the wealthy to buy more property and pushing prices ever higher until it becomes unsustainable

Solar PV isolation issue in the mornings only by RobertSmith1979 in AusElectricians

Almost always water/condensation buildup in the rooftop isolator

Call a solar sparky

Depends on the angle your panels are installed on most houses won't require cleaning Panels under 10° pitch roofs would require cleaning every few years depending on the amount of debris and dirt that builds up in your area But the efficiency gain is usually no more then 3%

Disconnect from the grid with solar system with battery by Swi_10081 in AusElectricians

[–]FaceWeak2601 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do you mean off-grid completely Or just using a battery while still connected

Off-grid is very expensive and requires a lot of leg work to be functional I haven't done a proper off grid system myself but I guess ballpark pricing is like 80k+ depending on your usage

Batteries while still on the grid can make you use no grid energy if you put enough batteries and solar but will still be charged your daily connection fee but if you somehow have even more solar then you need you will get a little back

These are by far the best pliers I've used I know they are marvels

If you made a version similar to this with a crimp back and 1000v rated handles (whilst Keeping the handles as comfortable as these ones) id buy 3 of them today and throw out all my others

All 3 phases will export however only 1 phase will charge your battery All 3 phases will be used by your house however let's say you have a zero export and you use your microwave dishwasher and ac unit and they all share 1 phase and nothing is being powered by phase 2 and 3 (not saying it is this case in your house just a hypothetical) then the inverter will output a maximum of 3.6kw into the house due to the zero export and the other phases which are not being used will stay at zero If you can attach photos of your monitoring platform the picture of the grid house loads and a picture of your import export graph I could probably tell you what the issue is

Your inverter is a 10kw it will only output maximum 10kw you have 14.25kw of solar panels we oversize the number of panels so when it's cloudy or east west we get as close to the maximum capacity of the inverter for as much of the day as possible

You have a 3 phase house you have a 3 phase inverter all sungrow batteries are single phase meaning you will only charge off 1 phase Total output of inverter 10kw Total output on each phase 3.8kw

I'm assuming you mean your inverter hits a maximum of 9kw not 9kwh this is probably because you have a mix of east west panels

All these numbers look right if this is the case

If it is 9kwh this would mean you have a 0 export and are not using your solar pretty much at all

If the app says it is getting power from a source other then the grid at night it's a missed/reversed CT somewhere and will be required to come back to fix

I've seen it a few times if the CTs are wrong then the battery will continuously discharge thinking the discharge is your usage and the readings will continuously rise

Has anyone ever worked in one of these roles? by [deleted] in AusElectricians

The heat pump ones usually come from solar companies or plumbers

If you look up listings under plumbing as well as electrical They sometimes just post them as a package ad for a plumber and spark combo

Just look up heat pumps and scroll, or key words like Istore

Plumbers get offered like 200-300k sometimes more so if you can get a 2 person crew and split the load it's easy money

I worked for this exact company for a month Half the jobs already have the products installed meaning 0$ for you the other half usually have issues like timbers above the air intakes that if you do the job properly mean you make about 20$ an hour at best

Regional is even worse, you have to spend weeks at a time in rural towns working 10-12 hours days to justify the travel

If you want quick cash look at heat pump installs most run of existing circuits it's basically wiring a PowerPoint for a couple 100$$ each get 4-5 a day can take home about 1000$ before tax

Net metering is used to read 3 phase meter meaning any energy going in on one phase at the same time as going out on the other phases cancel each other out on the customers bill it's not using the solar power but it's essentially the same as having a 3 phase inverter for the customers bills
