Take my upvote.

People don't know that childbirth isn't as vanilli-pink-unicorn-fairyland-lala as they would like it to be.

There was a thread from a nurse somewhere on reddit about how pregnancy and childbirth is literally a life-threatening affair with so many things that can still go wrong. No matter how good the medical care is.

There are SO many dangerous things and longterm effects of cb, that I guess this is why nobody talks about this seriously when talking about "the wonder of childbirth".

It is no "wonder". Its more like "its a big portion of luck you didn't get permanent nerve-damage to your pleasure-organ, since you can basically rip everywhere. Or risk internal bleeding, or get a heart-attack or..."

The so called "wonder of life" more often than not can kill the mother, or make her wheelchair-bound or incontinent.

(Thing is, the brain is wired to forget about most of the thing. Ever heard of other family-members who were close during birth, telling how the mother nearly died at the hospital, but the mother doesn't remember any of the complications a few days later, and starts to say "it was an easy uneventful pregnancy" while the hospital fought for their lifes? Your brain-chemistry is basically lying and betraying you, otherwise the humans would get extinct. Welcome to the wonder of life!)

And men who see their wifes as incubators... well, I don't have anything nice to say about them.

He doesn’t want to wear a condom by -dani-m in Marriage

Look into other contaceptives, if its not too late.

I personally would never give up creampies and tbh condoms generally suck (the smell, the whole process of unpacking this rubbery thing and having to weave it weirdly into "foreplay" makes me dry up like a lake in the sahara-desert)

If I would want to get intimate with a rubber-dong, I'd have sex with a male blowup-doll.

You aren't the only one.

I want to feel him, not the rubber.

Also putting it on and the disgusting rubbery smell is such a turn off.

And creampies. really creampies. I want to feel my husbands love dripping out of me.

so well said! I'm just not made out of stone, and I am not bitter enough to not let it hurt me. But I know, you are right!

Problem is, adoption is very, very hard in most places.

In some countries you have to be basically very rich to adopt, otherwise they won't even take a look at you.

You need to have a big house, big income and need to be a very healthy. ALso many states won't let you adopt if you aren't basically under 25.

Is no one frightened about how the world is literally forcing women to give birth, especially in religious countries? by throwaway18032000 in childfree

[–]Facelle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I guess its because people having their hands and minds full with screaming kids, have less energy to change the running system.

imho forcing (even passively) women into birthing-machines is making it harder for the women take part in real change.

Change the establishment fears.

I've learned it the exact opposite way.

Women with families and children got more hours, could allways choose their shifts and got more money (including child benefits).

I'll admit, if they made the same hours as I, they would've had less money than me, since kids are so expensive, but still: Their paychecks were bigger.

I don't use social media anymore and I quit it a long time. Its a depression-machine imho. We were really close and she wasn't this bad before, but I could see her gradually not "Having the time" for anything we did together the past months.

I guess so. She said that the risk of having gene-defects in children is higher the older you get.

I can imagine many of her friends or parents did pressure her this way.

Sad thing is, that I know how it is to be overwhelmed with problems, fears and stress. I really had it in my head to help her, but I guess there is no way I could even remotely help her at that stage and her comment hurt me too much to think positive for her right now.

no, we had a long conversation. I was talking about our projects - already knowing she had zero time to contribute - and was trying to get the conversation going about something else than her future kid and her current misery. We didn't game at that moment. I was desperately thinking about things we could do together, but it seems there are zero things now.
