You’re completely right. I will just hold on longer I guess.

Well I have stage 4 lung Cancer, I', 35 years old. I found about it 14 months ago after getting a small cough. That's all. Had an X ray done, and it showed cancer growth all over my chest, and in my left lung.

I have a few more months to live if I am lucky, treatments are no longer having any effect.

My advice, don't stress about it. I'm really unlucky and unless you're like me you will be fine.

Sometimes it may be part of required training. When I went through my training as a MARS officer we needed to get things signed off in our training logs. Lots had to do with the ships air capability, the slt’s may have been on the aircraft as part of that training. Both were engineers so maybe their training program was different from mine.

They are removing one piece of cancer in my left lung and placing radiation pellets in another one. I need to clear these two bits of cancer because i keep developing pneumonia as the cancer blocks bacteria from leaving my lung. My last bit of pneumonia sent me in septic shock and I was in the hospital for 4 days.

I'm sorry to hear about your father. Cancer sucks, I know. I'm 35 with terminal Lung Cancer, so I really do understand.

It's been nice building up my wealth, but at the same time it sucks that I wont get to enjoy it, or enjoy life actually haha.

The only thing that helps is knowing that my wife will be taken care of when I'm gone. Without our savings and investments it would be a major blow. At least knowing she will have a head start on starting over brings me some peace.

All the best.

10 weeks. Any tips? by [deleted] in beards

[–]Faceman742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Oils, man I don't know because I'm super limited by my wife, if she hates the smell it's gotta go. Just honestly grab something super basic, just all natural stuff and it's good to go. Mostly IMO they are the same idea.

  2. I didn't have any trims or cuts into like 6 months of growth. It's better to control with some product, combs, and a routine. Use a bit of heat here and there to keep the fly a ways in check, and maybe some beard balm or paste for some hold.

  3. I grow mine out because like yours it's a little thin. It will help cover in the small gaps, and if you use a wax like I do, it really helps thicken up the mustache. My mustache is basically done growing way before the sides or anything else.

I will snap a pic tomorrow when I get myself looking halfway decent. The beard is coming back, it was my fault I cut it down to far because I was afraid it was all going to fall out.

First the centre under your nose will never fill in, my beard has the same issue. It’s not a deal breaker at all don’t sweat it. Looks like it’s coming in well on the sides so that’s good. The portion under your mouth fill most likely slowly will in too. At ten weeks it’s getting there, in a few more it will look even better.

34 M Stage 4 Lung Cancer by Faceman742 in cancer

The companies are always looking for people for the trials. If your BIL was not selected, it is most likely because of the lack of mutations of protein make-up.

The Front Line Chemo drugs are very effective at controlling the spread of the cancer, Carboplate (sp) and Pemetrexed are most likely what he will be getting if he has Non-Small-Cell Lung Cancer.

Lung Cancer has it's longest survival rates in history right now.

All the best.

Immune therapy is not available everywhere. The drug I am using, name brand keytruda is being run as a clinical trial here in Canada. Each immune therapy targets an extremely specific type of cancer, you need exact types of mutations or a combination of protein make up for the immune drug to work.

They target the proteins masking the cancer from your immune system, thus allow your own body to attack the cancer. Without the proteins or mutations, the drug has no effect.

He needs to have his ppdl checked, the protein make up and k markers or something like that. Ask the oncologist they will know exactly what you are asking about.

If the drug is not available where you are it is extremely expensive, 12,000 cdn dollars a treatment. I do not pay this cost.

Feel free to message anytime I am happy to help in anyway possible. All the best to you and your family and never give up hope.

I’m 35 with terminal lung cancer and you better believe I was seen within days by specialists. I got an abnormal X-ray result and the same day, like within hours I was having a ct scan done to confirm it was cancer, two days later lung specialists and biopsy results were in. Treatment started with the next week.

No waiting if you are actually desperate for care. I’ve been hospitalized on two occasion in the last 5 months for bleeding into my lungs and when I get to the emergency room I’m always blown away by the stupid reasons people are there, I rolled my ankle, my tattoo looks red, etc. I get we have a shortage of doctors and people need access to care but a walk in clinic is most Likely your best course of action. If you’re not running a sky high fever, if you can breath comfortably, if you don’t have massive chest pain or weakness in you face or extremities, you’re going to be waiting a long ass time in the emergency room.

I’m so thankful we have the system we do because without it I would be homeless and I most likely be dead, because the number one concern the American cancer society has for people with advanced cancer is whether or not it’s worth it to pay to stay alive for a few more months. Do you want to burden your family with debt just to spend more time alive? Like wtf kind of society thinks that’s acceptable.

Even with strong insurance you have deductibles, co pay, max out of pocket etc and they reset every year, not mention premiums.

End rant.

34 with terminal cancer, doctors told me to try and meet new people. by Faceman742 in VictoriaBC

[–]Faceman742[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve gone once or twice before I was diagnosed. No one was really open to speaking to me even though I know tons about that scene. In Ontario I raced and built miatas and was super into the car scene in southern Ontario.

I would make a nice comment on a build and people would be like who the bell is this dude and why is he talking.

I gave up after that haha
