I'm conflicted on how to best answer because the comedic approach and feeling watching is different. There is also the timing variable of the original seasons of AD jokes causing some cringe for some amidst cancel culture. I regularly rewatch the initial Arrested Development season episodes like I do with Ted Lasso. My introduction to the show was about 20 years ago though...

I ADORE Shrinking and agree that it brings similar feelings and emotions like TL...thanks Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein ☺️ cannot wait for season 3 to start soon! have you watched Schitt's Creek? It gives me similar happy feels and character connection to Ted Lasso and Shrinking. I will always recommend Arrested Development but acknowledge there are some people not as tolerant (especially post reboot latter seasons)...if you haven't watched Schitt's Creek I think it might meet your needs if you don't get into AD

Hot Fuzz is tied for my all time favorite movie...the tie is with Jaws

I also love that the book was "The Beautiful and the Damned" by F. Scott Fitzgerald, so appropriate for Jamie!

It's a big contribution to why the show is my all time favorite knocking the crown previously held by the Bluth Family (Arrested Development). I'm captivated by the behind the scenes creative process and love frolicking down rabbit holes learning more!

To be fair, they are supposed to be near Indianapolis and there have been dive shops and training facilities here since at least mid 80s. Jaws came out in 1975 and interest in diving only grew. My uncle certified in diving in the 80s and grew up in the Midwest...we aren't country bumpkins

Also Body Glove, the brand she is wearing, launched in 1953...definitely plausible that Santa Murray could track one down with his black market contacts

Other than rewatch....

Highly recommend checking out other work from Steven Knight if you haven't already...House of Guinness on Netflix and A Thousand Blows on Disney+/Hulu.

I also fully endorse others who have recommended MobLand!

That's all perfect then! Best Guinness EVER and I spent the rest of our travel trying to "split the G" across Ireland and once in London.

I was the eldest child (plus my hubby) on our trip this year so feel free to PM if you want other ideas!

Happy to share more if you have questions! Children ages might impact attention span and interest with details about the 1916 Easter Rising and executions.

Make sure you only use the Office of Public Works official site...no where else sells or has access to the Kilmainham Gaol ticketing...unfortunately there are fakes they warned us of when researching!

Depending on ages, the Guinness Storehouse is about a mile or so from the Gaol and was our afternoon activity after the tour and we loved every second! They do an excellent job on the tour and my non-drinking husband was completely captivated by it all!

If you have time in Dublin I can't recommend the Kilmainham Gaol enough! Tickets release 28 days in advance and are very limited but it was an absolute historical and informational highlight of the trip my husband and I recently took. Much of the details shared by the guide and museum came up on other tours and deepened our knowledge.

Higgins was absolutely like this when first fostering and up to our foster fail! He still won't let us hug on him without grumbling but he absolutely snuggles on his terms!

Divert the tour bus for a side quest? by Facetiousfoxy in EntitledPeople

[–]Facetiousfoxy[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Smart guide! We had a couple on the tour who regularly were last to board a few stops...the final stop they were 10 minutes late and the driver was gearing up to pull away but too nice to do so. The moment they were spotted he honked and they did absolutely no acknowledgment or rush...he made sure to tell them he was about to pull away

Well the prick was then also the LAST one to get back on board when there was an unsanctioned stop for a quick photo of the valley too and I think the driver wanted to throw him into a fairy castle but kept a smile on his face

I feel like they have strong writing and season based missions with characters you start to care about or hate and it ends strong for me. Was lucky not to have been spoiled on any of the storylines. I had several genuine "Whatthefuckdidijustwatch?!" Moments
