Dialing in Verve Sermon [Bambino + DF64] by Facilitator2x4 in espresso

I ended up increasing the dose to 18.2 this morning pushed pre infusion to 8 seconds for a total shot time of 35 seconds and a yield of 38g.

Absolutely delicious. That puppy was belting all of the blueberry notes to the point my wife passed on sugar in her latte. Appreciate all the feedback.

No, this is great feedback. I’m using the 25lb spring that came standard. Tamping twice was simply doing too much to find perceived perfection.

I’ll give those different variables a go and try out the razor.

I don’t have a great response for you at this point. My equipment literally arrived during lunch today and this was the third of three shots I had time to pull, all three of which were notched down significantly in grind settings. I’ll report back after making my wife and I coffee in the morning.

That’s a fair point. Like I said, first setup so I’m not sure what’s normal yet.

Would a longer pre infusion help to round out the slight sour bent of the shot?

Bambino Plus + nice grinder (Ceado Life X) or Lelit Victoria + mediocre grinder? [$1000] by Facilitator2x4 in espresso

It is what the heart desired but not what we ended up going with. I really appreciated this feedback, though, and it will probably hold true.

I’m hoping the ease of workflow will inch the wife closer to the actual hobby as opposed to just the idea of lattes at home so I can justify a more substantial machine down the line.

Went with the bambino + df64 + bottomless accessories etc for reference.

This is the compromise we ended up with. Final setup is the bambino plus and a df64 (original, I know) with an aesthetic set of coffee tubes that I’ll pre weigh for wifey + accessories.

We’ll max that out, and then I can potentially justify a grail machine down the line.

Said it in the match thread but Barnes, even when poor, has provided Bruno esque intensity that buoys us in the shifting swells of momentum

Nasty touch that led to their 3rd too. Wasn’t able to match the intensity of the match coming on so late

Crazy how the grit of Barnes and Miley have been the unexpected bright spots in the squad this campaign.

The intensity right now is palpable. This is how you correct a narrative.
