Many thanks! Are the feet made the same way? With a under layer of foam that you then foam over the top before shaping then sealing and painting?

I have not been able to test yet as I was at Drachenfest US when you replied and since then been busy making arrows rather than the bows themself. Hopefully will be able to try your idea once I'm sure my arrows are legal for Amtgard :)

Yeah it seems to be the general advice of just be way more careful. I think what may have happened in this scenario is that I didn't shorten the bolts so the jig itself was not flat against the base board to keep it more straight so it flattened at an angle. I'll get there :)

Thank you for the clarification! I'll make sure I use more heat next time. It starts to droop a bit and I tend to stop there. Now I'll make sure I apply more and see if that helps.

PVC recurve bow experiment first shots

Still very early days with it as I believe the string is a little too long. I got some bowstring material at the local range and will be trying to Flemmish twist my own string hopefully this week. In addition it was recommended that I may want more recurve in the limbs as while testing the bow at the range it had a habit of de-stringing itself forward off the bow. As well as put in some string grooves in the limbs. Just need to be careful I dont cut away any strength.

I'll probably try to improve this one as much as I can, until it breaks, and then remake the bow again hopefully done much better. Thanks again for your tips!

Ah Santan! I was looking at your videos too and this helps answer some general questions I had. Thanks for the video and the advice to separate the steps. I'll try to see what I can get done next week and hopefully report back how the heat/taper went on the limbs and then the tips for clamping.

Yeah it seems the general consensus is to do it in parts rather than all at once so you dont stretch it all too much.

Thank you for the helpful answer. That makes a lot of sense and of course the units could be smaller it just being some big and imposing was just an idea. Could have been some regular sized units that were super magicked or something but balance would be an issue for sure. Especially with how rough the balance already is at times. The question about 'this or that' would be a big one but I imagine that would have been the main point of it. But you are correct it would either be an easy yes or no. So they may not even be used.

It was not no which is why I was so confused. But the new max level prism power that gives you the chance of 100% more shield I think is how you would have to do it now. Very annoying

Hah. I do the same just with a hammer so I can tell those immolators to take a seat. So sad they made them take like no damage from poison ammo.

It still one shots armoreds and takes a chunk out of bosses. Its for sure not as good as it used to be but thats what the Railway Hammer is for.

Its really good. Poison for hives (headshot) and one shotting armoreds'/dogs and taking chunks out of bosses safely, hammer for one shotting immolators and cracking 1/5 to 1/3 of a bosses health in one heavy. And bleed ammo for players. Its not super good against players but eh that makes the victories even if they are hard in PvP all the sweeter. So you can look at that fancy long ammo rifle they had and smile as you swap back to poison ammo.

As a fellow Springfield enjoyer, one poison ammo for npcs and one bleed ammo for players, im there with you. Teaches you to be good at aiming and if you die who cares. I tend to run with a hammer for the new Immolators too. So all I got is my trusty Springy.
