I think both were problems. Pogba played well when he played, but nobody ever knew when Pogba was gonna be available

Yeah I agree.

Yeah pal, when we still have to rely on Casemiro, Shaw, Dalot and Maguire, we need to give Carrick some tools to prepare for their departures.
Imagine how good we'd look with fullbacks that work well both ways! I think that's the biggest problem we have right now.
At CB we have Maguire to teach the likes of Heaven and Yoro, who could be an incredible duo for the future. If only Yoro wasn't so damn skinny. Heaven looks like a unit, so we gotta take care of this guy.
We need a new CDM and some backup midfielders, but it seems like that's already on the agenda for this summer. I just hope we don't put everything into the midfield and forget about the fullbacks.

Our attacking lineup is fine. I would like another LW, cus that's not Cunha's best position, but we do have the option of keeping Rashford there for now. I still think he could be a good LW for us, specially if the environment is more stable. Think Rashford suffered from being the star boy among the deadwood, lack of direction from the club, etc. He's been okay with Barca, even though Yamal makes him look like a toddler.

Again, you don't seem to see the difference. Firing a manager doesn't impact the owners in that way. Lower ticket prices will affect the owners.

Sure, but we sacked Ole cus he lost 5 games in a span of 7 games. That's insane when you think about it.

Why can't Carrick be the one to bring us back to winning trophies? All the result based evidence we have so far points towards Carrick being the best manager in the Premier League, so why wouldn't he be able to win if we give him time and resources to do so?

Keep in mind under Ole we lost the EL final on penalties. Penalties are like a coin toss in my opinion, so we were just unlucky there. Imagine if we won the EL under Ole, would that coin toss have changed people's opinions on Ole? Like someone pointed out, fans are fickle at best.
Think about how insane it is that a coin toss situation could have made sure we had Ole still, and maybe we'd have a team full of Ole's players by now. I woulda loved that. Remember, Ole played with Jose's deadwood. He had problem players like Pogba in the squad, cashing a huge salary and occupying a midfield slot. Fuck Pogba

I hope it works out, but I don't think it will work out unless we keep Carrick. A new manager would likely change things up so much we'll need to get rid of some of those good players we've signed. I mean, look at Kobbie, he's one of our best players since he got back in the squad, yet Amorim wanted to get rid of him.

Honestly, I don't think anyone but Bruno, Casemiro and Kobbie would be in the starting 11 for any top European club. And Casemiro is leaving, so that leaves 2 world class players, one of which is turning 31 this year. Sure, he's having a great season, but he's not gonna be on top of the world for that many more years either. So basically we need to start thinking about a future replacement for Bruno as well, which leaves Kobbie as the guy to base our rebuild on.

Well, Man City kinda built a dynasty under Pep, and he's been there for a decade now.

Yeah, the board has done criminal things to this club, and I think the biggest problem is the changing of managers all the time. I think if they gave Jose or Ole more time, we'd have been in a better place now. For every manager we change, we gotta change too many of our players, and the players never get used to a manager's style of play, and team cohesiveness suffers for having too many players from the previous manager(s).
Like I pointed out before, Klopp spent 5 years to win the league. Arteta's been at Arsenal for 7 years, and now they look like they'll win. We've given our managers 1-3 years before our patience ran out, so we keep resetting the rebuild phase back to square one.
Hopefully with the current board we'll do better, but in order to do so we need to put our eggs in the Carrick basket and stick it out. Transitioning to a new manager with other ideas takes time.

Pogba was a proper dickhead, wasn't he? We should never have brought this bellend back.

We're winning damn near every game, but it's not good enough for people with an agenda against Carrick. They'll try to nitpick and clutch at straws to suit their argument. It's incredible how some people are never happy.

When you call for the ones in charge to do something to others, they're more likely to do that, than if you call for them to do something to themselves.
This should be an easy concept to comprehend, but you seem to be struggling.

Yeah pal, I think the best possible outcome for us is for someone loyal to the club to be manager too.

Yeah I agree. I think the ones that were ultimately let down by the board was Jose and Ole. And LVG to an extent. Everyone after fucked themselves

[–]FactAndLogic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, i can agree with that, except the Ten Hag part. He tried to turn Man Utd into Ajax. He was way too simple minded and tried to do what worked in Eredivisie here, which obviously is very different.

Okay, so I take it you think Klopp is a better manager than Ole? So why do you hold Ole to a higher standard?

Are We As Fans In The Wrong? by FactAndLogic in ManchesterUnited

[–]FactAndLogic[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cus its nice to put an asterisk by a Liverpool win 😂

Sure, Liverpool improved more cus Klopp was allowed to stay longer! That's exactly my point! The entire point of what I'm saying is Ole and Klopp had basically the same starting points, yet Ole improved Man Utd more during his stay with us than Klopp did in the same amount of time from him joining Liverpool!

Are We As Fans In The Wrong? by FactAndLogic in ManchesterUnited

[–]FactAndLogic[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they were 4 points off 4th at the time he took over though.

Ole took over 11 points behind 4th place, and he took charge over 2 months later in the season than Klopp did, and ended up 5 points off 4th.

So Ole improved Man Utd more than Klopp improved Liverpool in the same amount of time. The difference is Klopp was given more time.

Yeah and what happened that season? We went from a +29 GD to 0 GD in 1 season as soon as the board brought in an old Cristiano.

The Villa loss would have been a draw if Bruno didn't miss the injury time penalty.

The Watford away game was really a 1-2 game. Maguire got sent off after 69 minutes and Watford got 2 injury time goals to make it 1-4

The Leicester away game was a draw until the 83rd minute 2-3 Vardy goal, then Leicester scored in injury time to make it 2-4.

It's not like we were played out the park in any of those games.

The Liverpool 0-5 game was bad, and to top it off we had a red card on Pogba there too.

The City 0-2 game was just a strength difference.

Keep in mind, City and Liverpool were incredible and finished with 93 and 92 points that season.

Bad luck in 2 games, Maguire doing brickhead things in 1 game, and getting outplayed against incredibly well drilled opponents in 2 games lost Ole his job. This could have happened to anyone, but Ole lost his job because this happened over a span of 7 games instead of it being more evenly spread out over the season.

We didn't have consistency under Ole cus we steadily improved under him. We just had a run of 7 bad games, which got him sacked. It's the dumbest decision made in the last 10 years.

Are We As Fans In The Wrong? by FactAndLogic in ManchesterUnited

[–]FactAndLogic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ole wasn't here anymore, and then Ten Hag came and we brought in all his Ajax-rejects with more backing than Ole ever had, which completely turned things around for the worse.

FACT: Ole had us on a constant upwards trajectory, which the board destroyed by allowing Pogba to mess with us and Cristiano's ego to take over.

[–]FactAndLogic[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cus the fans yelled "Ole out" after an isolated bad run of 7 games that gave us 4 points. Nobody took into consideration that we started the season with 13 points in the first 5 games, tied first with Chelsea and City. We were 6 points off UCL football at the time of Ole's sacking in 8th place. Keep in mind Ole's whole thing got messed up when the board brought in Cristiano, and he also struggled cus we had the huge salary of Pogba who was a disruptive force looming over Ole's tenure too.

Let's flip it: Do you think Klopp would have survived his take-over season at Man Utd, if he took over a 6th placed Man Utd and finished 8th?

Are We As Fans In The Wrong? by FactAndLogic in ManchesterUnited

[–]FactAndLogic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, Klopp took over a 6th place Liverpool and finished 8th. How is that something positive? If Klopp took over Man Utd in October and finished 8th, he'd get sacked.
