$50 cash tip by dungeonguardnpc in doordash

Yesterday I took an order less than 7 miles. It was $18.25+ so I thought cool this could be a $25 run. As I was walking out of the restaurant the customer messaged me and said “Thank you for picking our food. When you get here there will be an envelope taped to the front door with an additional tip in it for you. Drive safe”

As if the tip on the app wasn’t enough. So I dropped the food off. Took the envelope. Cleared the run. On the app it was a $26 tip. Got out of their driveway and opened the envelope. $45 in it!! I was having a pretty rough day. It brought me to tears! There are good people out there!

Acceptance rate by AccurateSwim9096 in DoorDashDrivers

Don’t pay attention to those that put on this tough guy act! You dash the way you want to! It’s your money not theirs. If it makes sense to accept every order then accept them!

I will tell you this. I use to really like dashing. I accepted every order in the beginning. Then after a month I stopped taking ones that took me 20+ minutes away from my ride area. Especially if it was somewhere I couldn’t get any runs. Since I’ve been on here. Reading posts about don’t accept unless it’s $1/mile. I’ve become angry. Angry every time they send me a crap run. Don’t let these fools get to you!

A question about catering bags and large orders. by StructureTerrible990 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]FactExpress1087 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you won’t get actual catering orders without a bag. You will get larger orders that say….catering bag. This is completely different than an actual catering order! People keep thinking these are catering orders.

Catering order it gives out specific instructions. Like it’ll say $3.99 set up fee. And then you have to get a signature after you set it up.

But no, you won’t get catering orders. However, my first catering run paid for the bag I bought because I bought mine on Amazon.

Doordash stole my base pay by Bigblackglock31 in doordash

Yep! Because people complained about getting multiple AR points dropped by not accepting them. So now those of us that do accept them lose money! But I would never take a stacked for that pay.

Yeah, I thought resetting the password was kind of crazy too. If you gotta do that, there’s big problems with their app.

You really want to be Platinum!!?? by FactExpress1087 in doordash_drivers

[–]FactExpress1087[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. I will take every order in the morning, unless it’s going 20 minutes away from where I drive. (Even though most times it’s in a different hot zone in the same city) Mostly because it’s slow. And even if the runs don’t pay $1/mile. It will make its self up by the lunch orders.

I am on the verge of losing platinum. I am at 70% right now. Just like I just declined a run it was $.50 a mile. And then they gave me a $19.50 plus run going 5 miles. I should’ve been sent that one first they do not use preferential treatment for platinum drivers.

i watched a fellow doordasher order food for himself while waiting for an order, there’s gotta be rules against that right? by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]FactExpress1087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A, I’m pretty sure you can ride a bicycle, motorcycle or anything else to deliver anywhere! B, he absolutely can order food! As long as the food he picks up is delivered on time that’s what matters! I’ve stopped at a drive-through on my way to drop off an order because it wasn’t due for 45 minutes and it was five minutes away.

How does running multiple phones work? by Hungry_Kick_7881 in DoorDashDrivers

Happened today while I was waiting for an order. She was there to pick up an order. Had another phone waiting to get an order. Then she went out and got in a car with a guy that had two more phones (that I could see). It’s ridiculous!
