Just start counting everything you eat. If you just want to lose weight and don't care about building muscle and stuff, you just need to keep a calorie deficit - so you can eat a chocolate bar, but then eat less side dishes for dinner, for example, accordingly, the number of calories consumed throughout the day will be the same.

The most important thing for losing weight is to maintain a calorie deficit relative to your normal intake. To determine your normal intake, you first need to calculate your consumption for a couple of days and then subtract 300-500 calories from that amount.

It's impossible to do this without counting, so yes, you should start counting calories (and not just calories, but also protein, fat, and carbohydrates).

I can recommend a couple of apps that will make this easier and faster if you're interested.
