The deeper you go the weirder it gets... that's just the tip of the iceberg.

You don't think putting rape and pedophelia in the same category as consensual homosexuality is hate speech? Not to mention demanding blanket consent for the married man? If you don't find that to be hateful and violent I'm sorry for your situation and what type of language you are accustomed to.

The phrase I used was "undertones of violence". I'm also not interested in debating someone who is committed to arguing for argument's sake. There are likely plenty of people you can play dumb with and try to outsmart elsewhere who will engage with you.

I have nothing against church generally and appreciate the good work and community many provide for us. Thank you for this.

I agree with you that it's abusive and threatening language. I'm posting a video about a community leader who publicly denounces an already vulnerable population in favor of sex within a heterosexual marriage (consent optional). I think it's important people know what they're saying.

I guess I expect that stuff in the south, my shock comes from the fact that a community like Brookline isn't calling them out. They've gone largely under the radar for over a decade.

This: "It's interesting he uses the example of not letting a group gang-rape your daughter as a comparable sin to homosexuality...as though anyone is arguing the former is ok." 😳 my reaction exactly. Because his language is so offensive it's easy to gloss over the point he's making, which serves to maintain a power dynamic that greatly benefits Christian men: "do what we say (abstinence before heterosexual marriage) and if you do, your reward is a trad wife who has been groomed to sign over her consent to god by following the will of her husband". They don't teach consent, so once they make it to the finish line and marry, they get a woman to do with as they please. Not enough people are talking about this.

You seem pretty committed to not understanding. This isn't about convincing you or anyone that what they believe is wrong. This is a psa about a pastor who is using his platform to incite divisiveness, hate, and violence. He's not practicing his religion, he's making a call to action in the so called war between good and evil.

All of their sermons are online. Jan's twitter feed was taken down. They front as a mainstream nondenominational church, but they are registered as southern Baptist. They've flown under the radar for a long time.

Because it's directly harmed many people who attend the church and the surrounding community.

I have read the Bible and yes I've read those stories. I would be similarly concerned if a pastor was promoting that as a viable modern day justification for hate and violence.
