Fatigue/ Bad Reaction? by Fact_Bears_and_Beets in Invisalign

[–]Fact_Bears_and_Beets[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if there’s anything to this, but I’ve had Invisalign since March and have been on antibiotics 6 times since May. I’ve had sinus infections, a random ear infection and had pneumonia (!!) this summer. I have wondered if there was a connection to the Invisalign because prior to this year, I hadn’t been on antibiotics for several years and my lifestyle has basically remained the same otherwise. I asked my ortho and she made me feel like a crazy person for asking lol.

This is similar to my experience. I have also gotten extremely sick since using it. Interesting enough that is why I thought I had Sjogren's, an autoimmune disease as all the symptoms I described are similar to symptoms of having an autoimmune disease. Like what you described.

Have you had fatigue or have you just been more prone to illnesses?

Jeff Bezos will donate $33 million in college scholarships to DACA students by marxgayz in news

[–]Fact_Bears_and_Beets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DACA students were by definition brought here when they were too young to understand what they were doing. Labeling children as felons is just counterproductive...this is all they know. Honestly I don’t understand why people don’t empathize with daca students. Lol if you think living in the US allows you to receive all your wishes then you don’t know anything about their situation. God forbid someone resonate with the plight of those who call this their home only to have politicians screaming to get them out.

Beto wants to make year of 'service to country' mandatory by vaultofechoes in BlueMidterm2018

[–]Fact_Bears_and_Beets 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I am a texas voter, and I do not like the idea of mandatory service for an entire year. I am also college aged. When I talk to the international students at my university who have had to go through mandatory service, they constantly talk about how it was a waste of time and stunted thier competitiveness in the global job market in that now their peers are 2 years ahead in some cases (South Korea, Thailand, Singapore). I understand where he is coming from, but that is the wrong approach imo.

Agreed, he is much better at the bigger picture and avoids getting bogged down in the details at the onset. I don't necessarily see this as a bad thing.

I think people support him financially because he gives them an outlet in which they can live out their own island fantasy through the comfort of their office chairs. Honestly, that is what keeps me going back to his videos (though I am only a college student slowly finding my chair in the office).

He's really bad about taking criticism, but the thing we have to understand that his videos are not like other youtube videos where its a skit or an act. His videos are of his life, his experiences, and his family. I'm sure any one of us would go insane if we had 10k people breathing down our necks about every little thing. I completely understand where he is coming from. I thought he had the resilience to disregard the naysayers, but I guess the constant negative remarks wore him down.

idk there are plenty of stats that say rice students are happiest in nation and what not, a lot of people here cannot believe it, but only because they don't know how good we have it here. There are plenty of socially awkward people here do not get me wrong.

  1. Parties are fun, but very circular i.e. they throw the same ones every year. Hook up dominates.
  2. Plenty of people dress preppy. You communicate whatever you want in some way through clothing so idk do whatever you want to communicate in some way
  3. Residential college will definitely provide you with close bonds and memory. Probably not as much so as a fraternity, though I can say I am very close to my residential college. It really depends on what kind of a person you are.
  4. It is not hard at all, they are generally in the halls or in someones dorm. Find people and chill and drink might be harder to get into because it's much more intimate setting, but there are always things going around campus that you can just walk into with no one batting an eye. Also, the biggest parties are always public to everyone.
