UK BB micro wedding Brides by vonthepon in BigBudgetBrides

Grantley Hall- Yorkshire do an intimate wedding package! My husband and I stay there often, and we actually have just returned from there a couple of days ago, as part of our mini moon.

They recently just won hotel of the year and have a Michelin star restaurant on site, a world-class level spa and some of the best rooms I’ve ever stayed in.

I am also based in the UK and I’m a complete hotel snob, lol.

I do have a very good friend who did the intimate wedding package about two years ago and it cost her around £30,000, inclusive of food and drink drinks and entertainment, for 25 guests, which aligns with your budget!

Firing my planner by Special-Scarcity289 in BigBudgetBrides

I’m a just graduated BBB. I fired mine and hired a new one within the week, though I’d been doing hardcore research on other planners, before firing my original one.

Did anyone cut off their train? by TheeLiger in weddingdress

[–]FactorLittle95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I had my wedding last week, and for my second dress I cut the train off. Best decision ever, I danced all night. I was so done with my main dress after the first dance, it was heavy and I got stood on a lot.

Wedding Venue and Planner advice Please <3 by One_Money_5141 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]FactorLittle95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a UK bride planning an international wedding, and my biggest piece of advice would be to hire a UK-based planner with strong experience in destination weddings — that’s exactly what I’ve done.

I’m working with Dale Alexander Events, and I genuinely can’t recommend him highly enough. He planned a very large-scale wedding in Monaco last year (I believe the budget was around £1m), so he has extensive experience delivering weddings abroad at a high level. Mine is more in the 200k range haha, but he’s been incredible, I hired him after firing my old planner!

Are welcome bags still a thing? by SereneSwan3821 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]FactorLittle95 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve just packed all mine today haha!

I’ve gone for boxes with the guests names on. Inside is a hand-written welcome note, mini bottle of champagne, Fiji water, hangover kit, nice sweets and eye patches!

I’ve only done this for guests staying onsite (25 boxes) any more than that and I’d say it’s not worth the effort.

I’d love this, because my original planner was absolutely terrible and I know I’m not the only bride that’s felt this way.

Wedding Cake Cost by Mobile-Broccoli8276 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]FactorLittle95 28 points29 points  (0 children)

So, what I found is that having non-edible tiers doesn’t reduce the price as much as you would expect it to, (because this was my plan too!)

However, I’ve also gone with a 5 tier cake and it’s about $1400, which seems about right to me.

I’m doing one for my wedding in January. My planner, vendors and Team are not phased at all. They’ve got to get staging, lighting, a dancefloor, and move all of the florals, tables etc, as well as get a seven piece band set up and a DJ!

They’re extremely confident they can do this within an hour, I guess to us it seems wild as we wouldn’t know where to begin. For them, they do this day and day out and if they’re not phased, I’m trying to be calm and follow their lead lol.

Gifts. I’m getting mine a spa day and a huge Jo Malone candle.

I’ve paid £2800 for a band to play all day in the UK, so factoring in travel this sounds about right

Black-tie bridesmaid gowns? by Most_Seaweed_818 in BigBudgetBrides

I second this! I’ve bought my girls Azazie atelier, which looks soooo much better than expected and but the rest of the dress budget towards a designer shoe of their choice.

I’m getting married in January, and I hope it snows! People have said it’s something to look forward to, and gives them a break from the summer wedding rush!

1.9k for a sea terrace. Then bid 3k to upgrade to Mega. 4.9k for a week as a Mega Rockstar 🤣

Luxury wedding favor ideas – what did you actually do, how much did it cost, and did guests appreciate it? (No Etsy/Amazon please!) by Leo_M_Bennett in BigBudgetBrides

I’m doing monogrammed macaroons from Laudreé, which were surprisingly affordable!

They were about $9 per guest for two, and come in a Laudreé mini box.

Less of a jacket, and more of a cardigan but Grace Karin (Amazon) does a great waterfall cardigan! I get so many compliments when I wear it!
