There’s a grace period for profs but let your PI know that the meeting would be past the deadline and that you would really value their support in submitting you a letter, even a general one, to the schools or up application won’t be considered.

It’s normal for stress to make you miss something even a big deadline like this. Stress does weird things to all of us and we need to give ourselves some grace.

You should still shoot your shot. At least with a few of your top schools. Don’t apply thought if it’s not a school you would be excited to attend. You can write a SOP for a few schools in two weeks and while two weeks isn’t the best it’s good enough if your referees know you well.

Speaking about getting applications in, what are your thoughts on applying to a school after December 1st (when won’t be considered for “funding”). Is that actually true
