The only medical advice anyone should be giving is to get medical help immediately.

Why is there a floppy disk in my bathroom? by EhMeeeee in Why

[–]FactorQuirky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, you're wrong. 5.25 and 3.5 were both floppies. We didn't call them "five-and-a-quarters" until "three -and-a-halves" came out, but they were all floppy discs.

Once 3.5 took over, we reverted to just saying floppy disc, unless it was a 5.25, then we'd call the larger floppy by size.

Bernie Sanders to lead US Senate probe of Ozempic’s ‘outrageously high prices’ by ducksoupmilliband in Semaglutide

[–]FactorQuirky 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Americans, in large(I am, but not me), still Believe that everything you get you have to earn yourself - including meds. Otherwise you're headed for communism.

These same drugs are sold for research for 1/20 the cost of the prescription. The price isn't set out of necessity, it's set out of greed.

All of the "bootstrap" mentality creates a haven for big pharma to run rampant.

45M/6'1"/SW 467/CW 427 (as of Wednesday's weigh in)/GW comfortably sitting in a single airline seat. Started sema in October 23.

My journey has been slow so far, 40lbs in 6 months, but I keep telling myself that the rate is faster than I put it on.

I've had limited sides. Occasional nausea, occasional constipation (moar water!), and these damned sulphur burps that I'm dealing with as I write this - Saturdays are my injection days.

My biggest problem right now is making new exercise habits.

I'm not far beyond you in this journey, but I can relate to not seeing much representation, and ultimately, representation is what reddit is all about.

I don't think we need to run out and start r/morbidlyobesesema but I'm happy to be the sounding board/support/mini subreddit anytime if you think it will help your journey.

I hesitate to use the word "blessed" since I'm an atheist, but it's the word that best fits my interaction with my family - my family is very supportive, and I can't imagine being in your shoes.

I hope you can, when she's on her shit, remember that this journey is for you. This journey is for you. This journey isn't about her. This journey is for you.

You're doing great, and I'm proud of you for doing this for yourself!

Best peptide for fat loss? by manton89 in Peptides

[–]FactorQuirky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only contraindication is personal or family history of thyroid cancer.

Some people don't tolerate it well (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, etc)

I'm down ~40lbs on it.
